just one consideration here--the kam has a touchscreen. I (and many others) *way* prefer hard buttons!

I'll second that touchscreen veto. My Yammy receiver came with the RAV2000, their proprietary version of the Phillips Pronto touchscreen. At first I was all gung-ho for it and spent weeks custom designing buttons and layouts for it on my PC and once I actually began using it full time, I found it to be quite a pain to have to look at the touchscreen everytime I wanted to do something. I packed the Rav2000 away and I then picked up a programmable hardbutton Hometheatermaster MX500 for $100 and have been loving it.

hardbuttons
For a great hard button JP1 equipped remote, head to Radio Shack (though these are just OFA re-branded) and check out this (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F003%5F007%5F000%5F000&product%5Fid=15%2D2116) or (with RF extender) this (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F007%5F010%5F000%5F000&product%5Fid=15%2D2117) one.

I have a Kameoleon and love it. It looks great sitting on my coffee table. When you touch it, it glows to life. I can understand why some people would want hard buttons. It doesn't really bother me. It's not like I'm sitting there hitting tons of buttons. It's usually one or two and I'm done. Part of the reason I liked hard buttons is because I couldn't see the remotes in the dark, so I could run stuff by feel. Since this remote is illuminated, it's easy to see.
