Change region on a dvd player??

Ive heard there are ways to "hack" into your dvd player and change the region and VCD capability.
Anyone know if this is true??
I know once someone guided me to a menu on my dvd player that said ..REGION: 1 and VCD: OFF...
It wouldnt let me change anything .....
So Im thinkin that there really must be a way...

Any help would be great..

Thanx!

Funny post, but you still didn't bother to tell us that one critical bit of information we need.

From the sound of that post, guess you figured it out all by yourself. Why, did you find something called Google.com?

I didnt think you needed to know what kind of DVD player I have to tell me if its true or not....
Thats all I was lookin for..a yes or no answer. Not so difficult, is it?

IS IT POSSIBLE ON ANY DVD players..

Then ya could have been a swell guy and either pointed me towards a site that explains how to do it or then you could have said "Well gosh golly gee, what kinda player ya got there?"

Yes, it's possible on any DVD players. Unless by 'any' you really mean 'all' then it's not. Some you can, some you can't. That's why people were asking what player you had, they were trying to be helpful, not asking for jackass replies.

Really? Because I assumed when you wrote "Any help would be great" you meant that you would appreciate any help we could give you.

In that case, my revised reply is:

Sometimes.
