It's always a hassle whenever I go to use a BBuy coupon. Someone stated it was store policy. Could someone tell me where it states that Circuit City accepts competitors' coupons online so I can print it and take it with me please? :) Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing so I'll give your thread a bump, this may be a good thing for the current Toys R Us buy 2 get 1 free.

Most will only honor B&M stores that are local, and no online coupons.

Wrong forum, BTW

I just go to the store that the coupon is for. No hassle, no wait, no confusion.

the one time i used it, it was for a game that cc had - advance wars 2 but best buy didn't. it could also be used if cc has lower prices - for example, they're currently selling pokemon ruby and sapphire for $28.

I usually go to CC to use the BB $5 off coupon or 10% off Preferred Customer coupon when CC has a cheaper price. Typically, BB won't match CCs price and let you use a coupon on top of it.

1. No one mentioned online coupons
2. Best Buy sometimes balks at doing both a pricematch and letting you use the coupon.

Which is why I won't be doing a PM at Best Buy for a while. I really got into with customer service the other day. All over a PM and a coupon.

Yea, Best Buys sucks ass at price mathcing. I had a whole fiasco a few months back over a DVD.

Whats your story nickdawgy?

my story is this:

I walk in, grab Warcraft 3 battle chest, I head to customer "service", armed with a gamer coupon (the $5 off one) and ask for a price match.

She says okay, takes a good two minutes to read the fine print and then takes another five minutes to verify it with a manager, who of course said it was okay.

She starts to scan them, and then tells me to choose whether I want her to price match Warcraft 3 for $39.99 or use the $5 off coupon on it. I said both, and she said no, two offers cannot be combined. I said I have gotten a PM and used a coupon before, she says she has worked there 4 years, and she knows store policy. I ask to speak to a manager, and she gets this dude that looks like he wouldn't be fit to manage a Dairy Queen, and he confirms it's store policy. Keep in mind I had done the PM and coupon at least 5 other times in the past year with no problems.

After arguing back and forth, having her tell me to be quiet and sticking her hand in my face, I finally said "thanks for nothing"and left.

I then went to Circuit City, bought the game there, and spent an extra $60 on stuff I probably would have bought at Best Buy.

I have been thinking about calling the customer complaint number, but it probably wouldn't do me much good. Maybe I'll just call Best Buy, ask for the rude girl, and if she's not there, say I got her number from her in a bar, and she said call here anytime, or something like that lol. Get her in trouble :D

I've had the exact same problem. When you try to pricematch and use a coupon they get all huffy.

"If you dont' let me use the coupon, there's no reason i should buy it here. If i want to pay 29$ without a coupon i can do that across the street"

{CONFUSED} "Well, we can't pricematch and take our own coupon [that we printed, gave you, and invited you to use] " ...?

It basically boils down to taking your job wayyyyyy too seriously. Guess what... You're a cashier/manager at BESTBUY! If you save the company 5$ in this situation you're not going to increase your place in life. Corporate isn't going to see your register tape and throw you a parade. All you're going to do is drive me across the street to target/circuitcity and lose a sale. I think corporate would rather take issue with that.

In the future, they'll be replaced by U-Scans. :)

Right, my logic was they lost out on me buying $100 worth of stuff to save $5

More power to Circuit City, PM'ing there is a snap. Plus, as was mentioned before, you can use the BB coupons there.

Since you apparently live exactly where I live... which CC is that? The one on Valley Forge Road?

Apparently you've never worked at Best Buy. Employee parades are an integral part of the corporate culture there.

J/K. I did laugh out loud at the thought of all those blue-shirted, pimple-covered slackers having a little parade in the stock room for someone shooting down a coupon and PM.

i'm not sure the road is called valley forge road at that point, but yeah. sounds like the one i'm talking about. it's a big strip mall on the south side of the 202.

looks like the street's called swedesford road w/ valley forge as the cross road.

Speaking of Circuit City.... something is definitley amiss at my local store.

As far as I know CC still does price matches (if I'm wrong then someone please correct me so I don't look like a total jackass). Anyway, I saw that in Best Buy they had the Indiana Jones game for PS2 for $19.99 marked down from $49.99. So thinking that CC would match the price I went to CC. And wouldn't you know that there wasn't a copy to be found!!

Now it is possible that they sold out of it. But this store has had history of "missing" delivery dates and not having certain sale items "in stock" when the sale dates were advertised.

I'd hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I'm starting to think this particular store is sitting on certain items.

Maybe, but the CCs that I go to never do that intentionally. They just have much less stock then best buy does.

When I worked at CC, we accepted other store coupons. It was part of our low price garantee. We basically would match the price to what the competator would sell after applying the coupon. Technically CC doesn't accept other store coupons, but garantee to match the price. Your best bet is to buy it elsewhere with the coupon and then price match at CC for %110 of the differrence. Not in stock at the competitor's store. You may be SOL because CC's policy is for in stock items anayways. You may get lucky, since a lot of employees won't call the other store to check stock.

Yeah, and even if they call the store, it's usually just to verify the price, and not to see if they have it in stock or not.
