Reminder.. VH1's I Love the 80's Strikes Back starts 10/20/03

Just a reminder for those that liked the first round of the 80's and perhaps the 70's episodes.

VH1 is starting to air I Love the 80's Strikes Back on Monday the 20th at 9pm EST.

It looks like they air 2 years a night at 9pm then 10pm and repeat at 1am and 2am again.

Monday will be 1980 and 1981.

I can't wait.

Totally.
Is there any truth to the rumor that Michael Ian Black isn't a commentator anymore?

" I get to smurf her first!"

... I watched in between commercials of CSI: Miami, but I catch this on the umpteen million reruns over the next month.

you know........these would have been a lot better without FIVE MINUTE commercial breaks....seriously, i started timing them when I realized I was getting two breaks in the FB game during one for VH1.

He's in that new show on Broadway... did he have the make-up on still? (I didn't see him.)

Edit: "I Love 1980 Strikes Back" is on right now... and yes he still is in the makeup for the Broadway musical.

The one that had me rolling was Michael Ian Black (is it me or does he and Hal Sparks have like 50% of the monologue on this show?) at the end of Friday the 13th (1980).
"So imagine if Freddy was Jason's father. Then Jason vs Freddy would be like this Oedipal...Star Wars...you see what I'm doing with my two fingers? I'm wiggling them. Think about it."

Also did anyone catch Jack Bauer's wife - actress Leslie Hope? I think she's a hottie. Need more of her. And Liz Phair!

Triumph the insult dog - strangely, not as funny as Kermit the Frog.

Getting annoyed with Michael Ian Black. Monie Love (the fat black woman) is annoying as well. Also Donal Logue. They are just not funny.

Hal Sparks is great though.

Yeah, I agree about Michael Ian Black starting to wear out his welcome.

His comments have become almost nasty and hostile - like he truly doesn't want to doing the show.

I'm still enjoying Michael Ian Black. And Donal (Donald?) Logue has his moments. Hal Sparks continues to completely steal the show. I might start watching Queer as Folk specifically because of him.

The Snausages part the other night was my favorite moment so far.

I wish Kermit was still on. And they need to talk to Stephen Lynch more.

Agree on all of those. I think Love is contractually required to sing every song they talk about (she is way better than Ellen Cleghorne though, glad they did not bring her back). Donal Logue is the worst, although I am biased because his movie "The Tao Of Steve" was a hour and a half of my life that I will never get back.

Sparks is okay; getting tired of his (admittedly good) Shatner impression. Black is so discreetly cynical; I prefer it when people reflect on their personal memories and experience with the subject; Boy George is a freak, 2 girls from the Donnas are cute (guitar & drums), 2 are hideous (singer & bass). Virginia Madsen is hot.

No more on ESB. (Haven't watched 83 yet, so I can't comment on RotJ, but I doubt it).

P.S. Why aren't you at your post? (I'm sure you get that all the time)
