Now that my SATA hard drives are finally out, I'm looking in to building a new sysem. Since Intel and AMD are releasing new chips soon (64 & 64FX and P4 Extreme) I was wondering if anybody knows when a price cut for the slower processors is going to happen?

I'm interested in a P4 3.0 GHZ -- 800mhz bus chip.

I don't think they've ever made a P4 that slow...do you maybe mean a 1.8Ghz or 2.8Ghz?

BTW, below are the latest prices for Centrino: http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/3/33224.html

they already lowered their prices a bit last week. The 3 Gig P4 was going for about $360 and was dropped to about $300.
