List of top 11 sequels...

www.ugo.com
I did a search before with no results...
Anyway what's everyone's thoughts on this list. I'm shocked T2 wasn't on there among others(Godfather part 2, BTTF part 2). There must be a better list out there somewhere. Please help...thanks in advance!!

Considering it's by the guy who writes for X-entertainment (articles about 80's early 90's movies, TV shows, toys, and breakfast cereal), the list dosen't seem all that surprising to me. If Sight and Sound released this list, then I'd be asking the same questions you are.

I was happy to see you metion Back to the Future 2, which I think is the best sequal after Godfather II. I kinda doubt this was intentional, but BTF2 also plays as a satire of bad sequals. Most sequals just rehash all the same jokes and situations from the original, BTF2 takes that to an absurd level by actually traveling into the first movie.

robocop 2 was a great sequel, i didnt really think much of the 1st one... just a lil too Verhoverthetop for me. I like the 2nd superman more than the first also... tho some peeps disagree. To me its much more fun to watch superman fight super villians than it is to see him fight normal guys and missiles.

I only agree with 2 movies on that list.

Empire Strikes Back and Aliens. The rest weren't that great IMO

Yeah, I'd say that list is pretty dead on. Gremlins 2 rocked, Superman 2 was cool beyond words, Evil Dead 2 was way improved over part one - and of course Empire rules all with an iron fist.

Deny all you want with your Godfather 2s and stuff - Dawn of the Dead 0wnze you all.

Say what you will about Godfather 2, but it's not better than the first Godfather. Therefore, it's tough to put it on a list with movies that are better than their respective originals (Superman, Gremlins).

Godfather II not being on a list of the 11 greatest MOVIES of all time is ridiculous. Not being on a list of the 11 greatest sequels is obsene.

Wonder what he was smoking when he wrote out that list...

I don't agree with much of it at all.

I waiting for someone to post the top 11 films by how much they made at the B.O. It would be quite a different list.

thanks drexl. 5 of the top 11 belong to Spielberg/Lucas. I could have sworn Last Crusade was up there, but with newer fare like TTT, Matrix, and X-men, it probably got bumped.
