What movie(s) proves that you can make a sequel to anything?

Just as a the title suggest, what movies prove that you can make a sequel to anything?

My nominee? Weekend at Bernie's 2. It was amazing enough they could make one movie out of the "dead body gets into precarious and supposedly humorous situations," but a second? And using the SAME DEAD BODY????

Unreal!

I'd imagine it'd be hard to top yours but Mannequin 2 comes close.

I understand that this thread does not mean BAD sequels per se, but ones that build on the preceding instalment in the oddest of ways when it looked like no way would be possible. Yes?

Halloween: Resurrection

I mean, come on... they could have brought back Silver Shamrock, at least...

Highlander 2: The Quickening

I mean, come on... aliens? If that wasn't bad enough, forget the alien idea, now they're a civilization that predates man that can jump through time to live as immortal beings that fight to the death? What?

Alien: Resurrection

I mean, come on... cloning Ripley to get the alien inside of her? How exactly?

I don't know if you guys checked out Dark Horizons in the last few days, but Jonathan Silverman said that he and Andrew McCarthy are set to do Weekend at Bernie's 3!!!!!!! It's beyond belief.

My vote: Omega Code 2: Megadiddo or whatever. Didn't need the first one, much less the second one.

Weekend at Bernies 3: Just when you thought it was safe to dip into the direct-to-video rental market, the lame comedy sequel ideas keep coming. Looks like the corpse is getting another life according to 'M&M' who files this report: "I was working on a new comedy called 'The Cookout' which stars Danny Glover and Queen Latifah. Among the cast was also 80's star Jonathan Silverman. I got a chance to talk to him and he said his next project is actually "Weekend at Bernie's 3". He said that him and Andrew McCarthy are shooting it in Las Vegas this spring or summer. He didn't tell me too much besides its about him and McCarthy going to Las Vegas for a Bachelor Party where they end up meeting Bernie's identical twin brother (Ernie?) who is some sort of mafia boss. So I guess his brother dies and for some reason they have to make it look like he's alive. Sounds like more of the same. He said they got Terry Kiser back to play Bernie/Ernie along with Vincent Pastore (Big ***** Bompensiero) from the Sopranos". Thanks to 'M&M'.

The first thing that came to mind was each successive sequel to Planet of the Apes.

Final Destination 2 - I haven't seen this but
Spoiler:
The premise of Final Destination 1 was that all those people were supposed to die on the plane but didn't. I think only one cast member from the original movie made to the end alive. So the second movie is totally unrelated to the first

Speed 2 - it's on a cruise ship!
I know you did last summer 2 AKA I know what you did 2 summers ago.

The weekend at bernie is the topper though as mentioned previously.

Spoiler:
Two people survive, Devon Sawa's character and Ali Larter's characater... both reappear, I'm told (the characters, I mean).

Halloween: Resurrection

I mean, come on... they could have brought back Silver Shamrock, at least...

Just re-watched Halloween: H20 the other night, and it seemed pretty "final" to me; I wondered how they explained it away in the sequel... (guess I'll watch it, even though it's supposed to be awful... dissapointed to hear that Silver Shamrock won't be making an appearence)

What about...

Jaws 4: The Revenge - So the whole "is it the same shark?" thing was pretty iffy for the first 2 sequels...and it would be fine if it was a different shark for every movie... but they clearly state that the shark has a personal vendetta against the Brody family in this sequel... PUH-LEASE! Excuse me while I jump up on my tail, make a lion-esque shark roar in disgust and impale myself while exploding on the front of your boat...

Was the shark not also blown up in the FIRST movie?

I have been asking "How?" since 1997. I dont really worry too much as the movie reeks of fan-fiction and is really nothing more than another late 90's CGI monster B-movie.

Final Destination 2 spoiler:
Spoiler:
As noted, only one the two survivors returns in this movie. However, the movie does tie nicely in with the first, and all the new characters do have a connection to the events in the original.

I don't see how a sequel to this wasn't expected. I haven't seen the sequel, but I would have been surprised had there not been another movie made.

If there was going to be a sequel, shouldnt they have called the first one, "Next to Last Destination"?

Come on, the most obvious one:

City Slickers 2: The Search for Curly's Gold

Curly had a twin brother??????

And I think 2010 proves this point too.

Hence the "...I'm told" in my original post.

Actually you're kinda wrong too there.
Spoiler:
She voluntarily committed herself to the hospital
