Please Geoff, for the LOVE OF GOD -- Disney and "Censorship"
Please Geoff, Please...
either sticky the definition of the word "Censorship" or institute a rule that states "the word "censorship" cannot be used in a thread related to Disney".
examples: one two three four
or better yet, how 'bout adding it to the swear filter..?
I was going to request a sitewide ban on the word "censorship", but that would be, like...censorship.

Technically, it is indeed 'censorship'
The act, process, or practice of censoring;...deleting parts of publications or correspondence or theatrical performances...
censor:
To examine and expurgate.
It's not constitutionally-barred censorship, however.
As long as it's not the government doing it, Disney, Paramount, or even GKleinman can 'censor' whatever they want on their products. And we can buy, not buy, boycott, raise a little cain about it.
Now, the 'reimaging' stuff is sort of like 'reengineering,' and I don't like that--maybe remaster to make it look or sound better, but don't 'change' it.

Christ on a pogostick. Not the “C” word again.
Here’s an idea: how bout you do for “censorship” what you did for “poodle”?

See? Problem solved.

semi related issue.
I got in trouble for using the acronym M$ for microsoft, but those threads are littered with di$neys. Not the end of the world, but it is a disparity.

People tend to be a bit too concerned with console bashing.

Want an outside opinion?
Following the link is probably the first time I’ve been in that forum. It seems that the use of “M$” is disruptive to the thread. (This, of course, is with a minuscule look at a couple pages. But, even so, I seem to be aware of the “console bashing” issue.) Since it stirs up such responses, perhaps it would be a good idea to suggest that it be avoided.
Now, I’m not defending those who object; I think they are part of the problem and maybe should get a life. But the problem is there, and for the sake of “quality” discussion…
In the DVD forum, the use of “Luca$” doesn’t seem to provoke such responses on the whole. (Again, since I’m not a frequent visitor there, things could have changed lately.)
I would side with the mod(s), who would know about the general tone of the forum in question.
Did this thread just get hijacked?
Poodle.
Just checking.
