Got thinking about The Recruit
Has anyone accepted the possible theory that Burke, Pacino's character was more than meets the eye? Throughout the entire movie, we're bombarded with the message "Everything is a test" like a foreshadowing of sort. It worked, atleast in my case as I'm relunctant to accept Burke as a profiteering scum as so many people have deduced. Sure he got shot up like a rag doll, but this is the CIA who's whole purpose is to decieve.
I believe the purpose was to divide the audience in half in thinking Burke was a bad guy only after his own interest, while the other half think it was an elaborate scheme to test our Farrel's limits. I figure if all Burke really wanted was the Ice-9 virus program, he could have easily accomplished it himself.
What do you tink ?

No, I think he was simply profiteering scum.
Sorry, but some films just don't need that much analysis, in my opinion. Diving into a shallow pool just leaves you with head injuries...
