Thanks to a 200g hd i just picked up from compUSA I've now got 560GB of space. Of course its more like 500 cause of the difference. How much space does eveyone else got in their personal computer?

I looks like about 500+ GB in each of two of my main machines right now.

I just added two 300GB disks to my PC including the two 20GB, two 160GB, two 40GB, two 80GB and one 60GB disks...so that is around 1.2TB raw. Sheesh I need a NAS box.

(2) 80GB 7200 in RAID 0
(1) 120GB 7200
(1) 200GB 7200

200, 120, 80, 60, 40, 40 here, so I guess that's 0.54 TB.

Just short in my server. 250(firewire),120,80,30 = 480

Server = 40+120+120 = 280
Desktop = 80
Spouse Desktop = 80
Linux Box = 40 (plan to add more)
Multimedia Box = 80+120 = 200
Notebook1 = 40
Notebook2 = 40

280+80+80+40+200+40+40 = 760 Gb

so a little over 3/4 tb --- but the linux box needs more.

did anyone get in on the dell 200gb for ~$25 AR?

My order is still "delayed" but according to Dell notices... I should qualify.

Dell: 160 + 120 = 380GB
AMD: 120 + 36 + 18 = 174GB
Laptop: 60GB
Spare Drives: 80 + 45 + 30 + 20 + 13 + 10 + 10 = 208GB

Total: 822GB

Main: 120 + 80 = 200GB
Kitchen: 40 + 20 = 60GB
Basement: 12 GB
Laptop: 40 GB

Total: 312 GB

My three machines (not including my wife's PC and her laptop) total...
1230 GB! -eek-

Cripes, I didn't even realize that myself. I just love those rebates. :D

Sorry to knock you down a little but 160 +120 = 280 (not 380)

Thought I would hit .5 terabyte after my newest upgrade to 3gig speed.. errrr sep everything went wrong.. Drives failed, control card's corrupted data (the promise TX2 is a POS)

ended up running 4 drives with the help of two rockethead so I could use my SATA connections.. 2x160 and 2x80.. Ah sooooo close to .5 Tera.. Oh well.. :)

If on has high speed net access and like to leech stuff or play alot of game you sort of need tons of HD space. Good thing they have gotten cheap now..

I feel so small in my 20gb laptop drive with just 5GB of free space :(

Don't feel bad, my laptop has a 10GB drive that was donated by my broken mp3 player. It's pretty bad when your mp3 player has 10 times the storage as the original drive in your laptop.

Wow...ya'll have alot of space. :) I am sporting a 20 gig, and 540MB :) in my main machine. Then I have a 10-20 gig (not sure) in one of my space boxes, and another 20 gig or so in my 3rd computer. I have purposely avoided all Hot Deals and Fatwallet posts because I don't want to encourage myself to buy more than I need....for now.

I only have 180 GB:
Two 80GB HDs in my desktop.
One 20GB HD in my notebook.

200+200+160+160+80+80+60+60 (plus a bunch of 20-40 gb's that are just laying around)

Uhm.. thats uhm.. ehm.. just around 1TB i guess?

I usually run mirrors, so probably half that I use...

How do you guys back up those insane amounts of data? Its driving me nuts. I use a few big drives in one of those removeable IDE trays or I run mirrors, still annoying.

Dave99

I back up the important stuff on to 20gb tape.

Let's see...160+160+80+80+80+80+120+120+80+80+30+10, plus another pair of 120's and a 200 that aren't installed. But a chunk of that (160+120+80) are RAID mirrors.

Enough? Nah.

I have only one 100 GB drive, and it is sufficient now that I have a DVD burner.
