It really depends on what kind of games you enjoy.

I say a resounding YES. But I would wait/search for a better deal than a straight $99 for the Cube by itself. There is always a free game deal/bundle or rebate or sale somewhere, and I imagine there will be even more options as the holidays approach. There is also talk of a Zelda compilation disc coming soon.

There are more top 12 games (using www.gamerankings.com ) for the Cube than for the PS2 and XBOX combined.

depends also on your financial situation of course, but there are some great games, Metroid Prime is in my top 5 probably, and Zelda is pretty damned good. Mario Sunshine and Eternal Darkness are other favorites on the system. Also, the wavebird is
one of the best controllers ever. easily worth $99 + Metroid Prime for 29.99... great deal

If you love video games, you should already have a Cube.. if you just want to shoot people and drive cars or play sports, you'll probably be better sticking with what you already have.

The Gamecube has the best exclusives. That's the only reason i got it, and although i don't have as many games for it as i do my other systems, i play it the most. My PS2 covers all the "generic" games. Considering getting an Xbox at this point to play Sega exclusives.

That will vary by your gaming tastes and the amount of time/interest you have in games, as well as the amount of money you have to invest in games.

I have all three, but really don't have the time and money for them all. Damn KOTOR tempted me into getting an X-box, which is now gathering dust.

At anyrate, on the GC the exclusives I've enjoyed:

Metroid Prime
Zelda: TWW and Ocarina of Time bonus disc
Eternal Darkness
Super Mario Sunshine
Wave Race Blue Storm
Super Monkey Ball

Worth checking out (either not my cup of tea but got good reviews, or ones I haven't played yet):

Mario Golf
Super Monkey Ball 2
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 0
Luigi's Mansion
F-Zero
Pikmin.

I'm sure I forgot a few as well.

Yeah.. most of the Sega Xbox exclusives are quite nice.

The entire forum can't stress enough that Wavebired = Best controller ever. You can read it a thousand times, but once you play with it, you will understand.

Judging from the number of people who own all three consoles on this forum, the answer seems to be a most definite yes (if you like games that is).

The thing about owning a GC is that the really good releases are few and far between, so it's good to have another system with regular releases so that you'll have a steady influx of games. I almost totally gave up on gaming in the 32-bit era because i had only a Saturn and an N64. Only recently have i purchased PSX games, and only a dozen of them are still worth playing.

I would buy the Gamecube just for the controler. It is easily the best one out there. And the Wavebird is hands down the best controler ever made.

If I have a choice between getting a game for my Cube or my PS2, I always pick the Cube version. Faster load times, better controler, better graphics.

The exclusives are usually better than average games, although as has been stated before, this will depend on your taste in games. While some of their exlusives may skew a bit towards games for children (Lugi's Mansion, Mario, Monkey Ball), I enjoy those games. I also like things like GTA, so that's where my PS2 comes in.

Now if the X-Box would have a price drop, I might consider picking one up.

Viewtiful Joe
Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike
Billy Hatcher and the Giant
Mario Kart
Pikmin 2
Killer 7

Pikmin
Super Monkey Ball

Definitely. you got Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2. Sonic Mega Collection (if you like those games), Mario Kart Double Dash coming out, Mario Golf, Metroid, Animal Crossing.

Plus there's a huge drop in game prices, so you can't complain.

without a doubt, my cube gets more PT than my Xbox.

My Games:

Metroid
Zelda
Zelda Bonus Disk
F-Zero (great game BTW)
Pikmin
Eternal Darkness
Mario Sunshine
Mario Golf (great multiplayer game)
Wario World (good but short)

Getting soon:
Viewtiful Joe
Star Wars Rouge Squadron 3
Metal Gear Solid
Mario Kart (can't wait for that one)
Pikmin 2

Basically the only reason I own an Xbox is to play Sports games. All the game I own other than this type are Game Cube exclusives.

I don't have many games for my GC compared to my PS2 and XBOX but I'm working on it.

Just got F-Zero and the new Buffy game. I'm also going to get SSX3 for the GC so all my buddies can enjoy the wireless controllers.

Ok what if I completely cant get into anything KIDDIE or MARIO or ZELDA related. Also never was really tempted to play Metroid. Is it still worth buying a GC?? Im thinking along the lines of getting it for the Star Wars stuff and compilations. Also for any decent RPGs.

In my opinion, no. You're going to spend the money for only a handful of games if your not into those franchises.
