DVD Talk review of 'In Cold Blood'

I read DVD Savant's DVD review of In Cold Blood at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=7688 and...I can not believe there was no mention of how bad some of the black levels were on many of the night scenes including scenes of the night of the murder.

Savant's not always the best judge of picture quality. Remember his Convoy critique?

Looks to me like a fair review and we aren't going to get a better DVD transfer until HiDef DVDs are the norm. Some of the scenes on this 1960s have been transferred execllently though: the warders and reporters walking through the rain towards the scaffold is pristine. Superb movie, as well.
