SNL -- the Good Burger Legacy lives on..

Saturday Night Live will kick off its 29th season Oct. 4 with two new cast members, a new opening sequence and a brand new set. According to Variety, actor Kenan Thompson (All That, Felicity) and comic Finesse Mitchell will be coming on board as featured players. Jack Black hosts the season premiere with musical guest John Mayer.

Oh great, now they've got Kenan... another big guy... watch out Horatio he might eat you!

I like Kel better, but Kenan will be a good addition to the crew. Never heard of the other guy... but they do need someone to replace Tracy Morgan.

Jack hosting and Mayer singing... crap!... and I've got plans to go see The Rundown instead... might have to record it.

That's awesome! Kenan Thompson on SNL, that's gonna feel weird watching that. But at least he's returned to the public eye! He's a pretty funny guy!

I have to agree. All Good Burger jokes aside, I think both of them are pretty talented comedians. Still not even close enough to get me to watch SNL again. As long as Falon & Tina Fey have something to do with the show, I will not even check it out.

Oh my god, that rocks so much. Even if Kel is kinda funnier, Kenan is a comedic force and maybe he can improve the lameness that SNL has become. Probably not. It'd be like having just a jelly sandwich. Bring Kel on too!

Wasn't The Rock scheduled to host the season premiere?

I wonder why Tenacious D can't be the musical guest. I guess they're not "hot" enough right now.

Makes perfect sense to me. For a few years there, All That was better than the SNL it imitated. You know, before EVERY CAST MEMBER EVER left the show.

Oh heck yeah - this'll be the first time in years I'll finally give SNL another chance... hopefully they can at least bring something good back to it!

On a sort of side note - I just saw Good Burger for the first time a few weeks ago, and it was one of the funniest "stupid" comedies I've ever seen.

I know the jokes are endless, but I hope I'm not alone in that opinion.
