The Brotherhood of Poland, NH - 9/24

Suprised there was no thread on this yet. Anyone else watch it? I thought it was a very good pilot. Not over the top which I expected since it was DEK. The acting was excellent and it seemed like all the characters fit together. Was looking for some other opinions.......

I was bored with it. I'll give it 4 episodes, but if it don't grab me by then, I'm done with it.

I could use the term 'boring' but that would be generous. I had to watch this live because I was recording Law & Order and The Bachelor. I gave up after 38 minutes.

I had high hopes for this...i tend to enjoy the small-town character driven comedy-drama (Northern Exposure was one of the best shows ever imho)....but I admit i got bored, and switched over to L&O half way through. I'll try again next week perhaps....I love the cast, I just hope things pick up.

I just watched it and thought it was actually pretty good. Slow during parts, but if these characters can continue to be fleshed out, I'll be sticking with it.

I also watched and enjoyed it. The cast and acting is strong and the setting combined with that should allow for continuos and divergent storylines.

The weak link for me is DEK as I put the odds 5:1 that he ruins this with gimmicks like he resorts to. He is not able to walk the quirkiness line and what usually briefly passes as that quickly becomes overdone and tiresome.

My hope is that there will be some worthwhile episodes during the first season, if it lasts that long, before that happens again though. Clearly I am not counting on it unless he tires of the show almost immediatley and abandons it to others to go create yet another show. He just can't help filling every single show with gimmicky things.

I just don't believe he either has the ability to walk a Northern Exposure-esque line or can refrain from suffocating it (the sound effects when the daughter used sign language, etc).

I liked the show, although I would have liked to have seen the pilot for the show. What we got as the first show was actually the second episode.

was it me or was the ending just a little bit cheesey?
Strong cast though, I'll watch again.

After one episode, I think I'm dropping this from my list. Certainly a good cast, but it was rather lame. Cute touches like his Katie Couric obsession, but my plate is too full for something so-so.
