ESPN Hockey Problem (Xbox)

Ok this is strange. I played ESPN Hockey about 2 hours ago, and all was well. Now when I put it in my Xbox, the intro screens (the ESPN Videogames logo, the Visual Concepts logo etc) and the Sportscenter intro do not show. After about a minute of blackness, it goes straight to the main screen and sits there showing "Loading". FYI it has been loading for about 3 minutes now, lol. It's as if I pressed start to bypass all the intros to get to the main screen. But even then, it usually loads in about 4 seconds, then saying "press start".

I just tried ESPN Football, and that loaded fine, intros and all. I also had no problem playing Halo.

So it must be the game, right? Is this a common problem with Xbox games or did I just get a bad one? It is in mint condition, no scratches, or anything. It's only about a week old too, and so is the Xbox, give or take a day or two.

Should I take it back and exchange it?

I rented ESPN Hockey and it froze on me right after completing one of my season games. This has never happened with any of the other 20+ games I've played on my Xbox.

Take it and exchange it is my advice. I had to take my ps2 version and exchange it due to freezing issues.

I wiped the disc a bit and it works now, but I don't understand why it wasn't working earlier. No scratches or anything on it.

I found a bug in ESPN NHL Hockey which freezes the game/system (PS2) always at the same part. I exchanged it because I thought something was wrong but it also happened with the new disc but its a very rare bug which is very hard to find.

What part? I'll check and see if it happens in the Xbox version.
