Biggest Loser on TV?

Who is it?

I was just watching my Larry Sanders S1 discs and I can't think of a bigger loser than Hank Kingsley. He's so pathetic and Jeffrey Tambor plays him perfectly. What a great character...and an enormous loser.

Anyone worse than Hank? Frank Burns? Maybe.

That's exactly who I thought of when I saw this thread title. I've been on a Futurama kick lately and he's my favorite character.

Al Bundy probably tops the list

Second goes to Ralph Furley

Andy Sipowicz comes in third. He gets shot up, His partner abandons him, his son dies, his partner dies, his wife dies, his son gets very sick, his partner dies. HOWEVER, he is banging Charlotte Ross. Yum.

Honk!

Please do not forget Bill Dauterive from King of the Hill. This is a guy who gets suicidal at Christmastime, who went insane, put on a dress and became his ex-wife just so he could pretend she'd come back to him, who is obsessed with his best friend's wife, who once fell in love with a picture on a Wheaties box, whose breath has been described by his friends as smelling like rotting garbage... this is one screwed-up dude.

Luanne: "Aunt Peggy, why is Mr. Dauterive hugging our trash?"
Peggy: "We will be okay as long as he doesn't take it home with him." (Pause. Sound of Bill's door closing.) "Oh, no."

If we're allowed to cite British shows, the biggest loser ever is easily Richard Rich from Bottom, as portrayed by the great Rik Mayall.

Coincidentally, the entire series is being released here on DVD September 30th.

He also portrayed another big loser in The Young Ones...

I clicked on this thread thinking Tom Green. But since we are going with characters, I'll throw another nod to Dr. Zoidberg.

Barney or Moe from The Simpsons are good ones, too.
