Anyone else think El Mariachi had moves like Dante from DMC?
I watched "Once upon a time in Mexico" this weekend and all the fight scenes with Antonio Banderas reminded me of Dante from DMC. Did any of you see the movie and feel the same way? Speaking of which, I think a "Desperado" based videogame where you play as El Mariachi would be awesome! Especially if you got to play as Salma Hayek! You could have all the stylish moves from the movie and your buddies could give you backup with their guitar cases filled with ammo.
Any other movies remind you of games or vice versa?

I don't think OUATIM is a sequel per se since it had a bunch of returning characters that dies in the first one. El Mariachi's buddies died and in this one they were alive and the knife guy from Desperado was alive in this as well (as a different character, but he was still alive).
I don't see the Blade connection at all.

It is a sequel, but not a true sequel in the sense that everything in the movie took place AFTER the previous movies. In fact, you'd see the exact same thing if you compare El Mariachi with Desperado, where it might be more like a re-iteration of the same premise. Example, Cheech Marin was in all three, and died multiple times in each movie.

Just to keep this on topic: I think that an El Mariachi Video game would rock! They could build it on the GTA engine, walk around a mexican town looking for a baddie. Yeah! that could work.

The action scenes in the El Mariachi movies are influenced from Hong Kong action films. Devil May Cry is a little to new to be influencing anything.

The recurring actors that died in Desperado were not the same characters as in OUATIM. Plus the friends that were in D were not the same two friends in OUATIM. There are a few inconsistencies in the storyline between the first and second movies but between the second and third it is pretty consistent.

Movie was kind of bad. I blame it on the worst editing ever. Had no flow and numerous bad cuts.
All the parts with Johnny Depp's character rocked however... they were all great and made it worth the price of admission.
I'm a MexiCAN.

Also, I was underwhelmed by the movie. Wasn't as fun as Desperado IMO.
