I am playing in a fantasy football league for the first time with some coworkers, and already I think I'm in for some hurt. The season started out bad for me when the draft was suddenly held without notice and before I had even had a chance to make any picks, so I just got players by pure chance. I ended up with great QBs (Gannon and Favre) and a decent RB (Tiki Barber), but I'm very thin at WR. My only really decent WR is Donald Driver, who is now out for who knows how long. Anyway, I'm looking for ways to get points in other areas, and I'm considering my defense. Currently, I have Oakland as my defense, but Tennesee was recently dropped to waivers and Buffalo is available on Waivers as well. Do you think I'm better off points-wise keeping Oakland, or should I drop them and pick up one of those other two defenses?

Here are the point values for defense:

0 Pts Allowed (10)
1-6 Pts Allowed (7)
7-13 Pts Allowed (4)
14-20 Pts Allowed (1)
21-27 Pts Allowed (0)
28-34 Pts Allowed (-7)
35+ Pts Allowed (-10)
Sack (1)
Interception (2)
Fumble Recovery (2)
Touchdown (6)
Safety (2)
Block Kick (2)
Return Touchdowns (6)

Thanks for the advice! Any advice is appreciated.

Forgot to mention...I am keeping Okland active this week since they play Cincinnati and could put up some big defensive points. I'm considering this change for next week based on your input.

Wow, sounds like you had a horrible draft. How many people in the league? And I would pick up Tenn.

There are 12 teams in the leaue. Yeah, I was not too happy about how the draft went down. I kept asking when it was going to happen, and nobody knew. Then suddenly it was "announced" late on a Friday when I wasn't at work that the draft would be that weekend. I came in on Monday to find that my team had been randomly chosen by the computer. I guess it's my fault as well. I should have just picked my players right away despite any pre-knowledge of when the draft would take place. I'll know better next year. In the meantime, I'm trying to salvage this year as best I can.

So Tenessee over Oakland. Anybody else want to offer some input?

just go for any team going against the bears, just look at the 49ers. they have a bunch of no names on defense and had major pressure on kordell cuz of the offensive o-line.

You should pick up the Minnesota Def. :)
