From Preacher: All DVDTalk members who have requested a crayon and did not receive it please contact me at preacher@rogers.com . All members who have received one but have not posted that fact or contacted me please email to confirm. Trying to determine if any are lost as one member has just informed me. Thank you.

Preacher: Thanks. I'll tell Sepia you were pleased. I'm sure she'll want a raise. :)

But in all seriousness, all I did was push the button. Anyone who can't come away from Sedona with some nice pictures is fairly inept.

Sorry I haven't contributed lately, I busted my heel and can't walk for a few months. But I did take tangerine to Orlando for the otter meet, so there ARE quite a few tangerine pictures among these:

Feel free to link to certain ones. Here's my favorite: It's tangerine with our favorite lawyer, Bandoman:

well I haven't posted pics yet cuz i was waiting to get some good ones together but i'll post these till that happens.

I don't have any pets so Brown had to go visit his cousins, my sister's dogs. I went home and put the crayon on their paws and started taking pictures. My sister asked "Is that a crayon. Djembe (the bottom dog) doesn't like it when he has things in his paws", and that was it. After I took the pics, I asked her why she wasn't asking why i was taking pictures of her dogs with crayons. She said she has pics of her dogs in haloween costumes and santa costumes, she doesn't find a crayon all that weird anymore.

Anyway, there are some better pics coming. It involves scandel and intrigue...and OTHER crayons. (Other crayons from Preacher, not just some regular ones).

The white crayon in a snowbank. Sounds infuriating. Need a different backdrop. The white crayon at night in a snowbank. That's better.

DarkElf,

While true, I have to say that the "uniforms" are somewhat "hypnotic." While this kind of "people watching" wouldn't be my kind of thing, I could easily see how this place would be very popular with a good number of men. ;)

hmmm.. we really should put together a list of people that still want one
maybe someone (besides preacher) would be willing to step in and buy a pack to split among those peoples, if there are enough people still wanting

of course.. would have to try to find a diff pack so we dont end up with too many of the same colors ;)

btw.. you could always just go to shoney's and snatch up a crayon :D

I have a list going of all the people who asked for a crayon. Much thanks to bfrank for posting the notice at the head of this thread. At some time when everyone has had a chance to reply in some way, any crayons not claimed will be made available to any interested parties. At the end there may not be any or there may be some. Anyone interested in having one if possible let me know and they will go in order. There are roughly 20 that have not been fully claimed yet.

There has already been one posting of a non-shipped crayon. I expect this to stop. Any DVDTalker can start their own thread or ship what they like to whomever they wish. But this is for those who shared information with me and wished to receive one. The club is full at the moment and any others will just have to wait and see if any become available.

I got the great idea to use him as bait which helped me catch one fish. Which ended up just pissing him off, then he got sea sick and no longer wanted to be photographed. This is the fish that vert bleu helped me catch.

I deserve a spanking for this but when i made that promise I didn't put the dates together and didn't realize that the march was the same day I was doing a bunch of stuff for my girlfriend's birthday (It wasn't her actual birthday, hence the lack of immediate date recognition) So I never made it to the march!

However, I did post some pics of the crayon in Puerto Rico and will get some more of him around NYC. And I'll send him back since I know the black crayon is close to your heart.

Sorry for the dissappointment! Frankly, this little bit of oversight may have saved my life!

I can send another out by tomorrow. The brother will join the injured one soon. I swear the first 90 or so arrived with only one so far (that I've been told of) going missing. Of the last group there have been repeated injuries. I just don't get it. The crayon hurtin' bastiches.

Hey Preacher, I think this was the second one that you shipped a week or so ago. I can't see a postmark date on the envelope. If it is the second one, I'll perform some surgery (tape :D) to put him back together. I'd hate to have you have to send me a third crayon.

I'll email you the pics. Thanks!

I knew things were not gonna be good by the looks of the envelope. Notice the "too bad, so sad" sticker from the USPS:

Then again, from the back of the envelope, I'm lucky sea green even made it in the envelope:

and the moment you've all been waiting for...

I'll still get some more pics taken, after I put him back together.

I tried not to use either. Crayon #3 was also green. And his spine was broke in almost the same place. But his butt was completely broken off, about the last centimeter of his tail. I cauterized one end and with a combination of melted wax and glue tried to put the piece back. Final straw was he fell off my keyboard and hit the leg of my chair. That split his spine. He's on life support, but the good thing is his brother arrived and can visit him and give him a good week of quality living.

so here it goes...

i had a big elaborate thing planned out but i'm lazy and never got around to doing it. plus the fall season started on tv ;)

I'm gonna post the pics of Phyber, QuAcKeR, and Joxer's crayons cuz they never got around to doing it.

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/e.jpg

here are mure (joxer), perwinkile (phyber), and blue celeste (quacker)

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/aa.jpg

here is Phyber's Periwinkle

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/a.jpg

here they are in front of the carving at Stone Mountain, where the three owners work.

by the way these pictures are all taken in the pyro pit (where regular vistors can't go  )

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/b.jpg

Here they are checking out Memorial Hall and part of the Laser Show audience.

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/c.jpg

Sadly, the owners sucked (not just cuz they didn't post the pics themselves). They didn't teach the crayons anything and they got into trouble playing with flame cannons

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/d.jpg

the crayons also played with fireworks

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/f.jpg

Brown (my crayon) heard about this distress and is coming to the rescue

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/g.jpg

Here is brown on the plane

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/h.jpg

Brown found out it was Joxer's crayon that was the bad seed, he liberated the other two from him and took over as leader of the pack.

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/j.jpg

Memorial Hall again

http://members.cox.net/~akashpatel/dt/i.jpg

Brown couldn't resist, he insisted they play with the lasers too.

what really happened was that i went to visit Phyber at work and saw his crayon sitting there with Quacker's so I stole them and took pics of them. It happened that many were similar to the pics they had already taken. I was gonna make an elaborate thing about how i kidnapped them and i was gonna tie em up and all that, but like i said, i got lazy. Hope you enjoy the pics

Okay see I WAS GONNA TAKE BLUE CELESTE TO ST LOUIS!! And we were gonna have the BEST of times... but VENUSIAN STOLE HIM and took him to BOSTON or something... this was over a month ago and we have yet to be reunited.

When / If we ever see each other again I'll post pics. I think this is grounds for suspension though... Preacher trusted me with the crayon and I trusted Venusian to crayon-sit... and this mess happens.

Actually, it's more that I think you won't care very much. :)

It's like pondering the beautiful color of the sky and then having someone tell you why it is that way - sort of ruins it.

Regular ATMs have braille keypads so that the blind can use them. When the manufacturer is pressing a lot of 10,000 keypads, it's cheaper to not have two designs, so they just make them all with braille on them. It's not that they fail to understand that there won't be many blind drivers pulling up to drive thru ATMS, it's just that it's cheaper - a manufacturing issue.

Not too exciting, but I feel that you were adequately warned.

This also ties in with the Governor's race here. Hustler opened a new Hustler Bar & Grill tonight in downtown. Me and Hot Magenta decided to pay a visit. He was next door at the Hustler store doing a signing. I was trying to explain how I wanted a pic with him and the crayon. There was a DJ playing music and he was having a hard time hearing me. I figured he didn't understand, so I put the crayon on the table. Like the trooper he is, he picked it up as I was taking the pic.

No rush, I was just wondering if it turned out. We were having lighting problems IIRC.

I was able to make it down to the Q for "Field Day" and have what I hope will be a nice picture, but it's still on my g/f's camera, so I haven't seen it yet.

Ok, first off, I was in Madrid for about 2 days, which was a totally lame amount of time to be there, plus I spent the first day sequestered in a convention center. So my sight-seeing experience was crammed into about 10 hours. Plus, I was alone, which is fun during the day but sucky at night.

Ok, I wasn't totally alone. Mr. Black crayon (who now likees to be called Senor Negro) was with me. Together we had a lot of fun, fun which we'd like to share with you. Pus I was armed with some good suggestions from this thread. (http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=322904)

First, however, a couple of other random recent shots:

Here's Mr. Black with a stray kitten we're socializing and planning to adopt out. I think the kitten sort of looks up to Mr. Black as a role model. Come to think of it, I can see the resemblance... Hmmm...

Here we are on the way to Penn Station to go to Newark to fly to Madrid. Mr. Black was having delusions of grandeur:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/empire-state.jpg

Here's a more reasonable view:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/empire-state2.jpg

Ok, Madrid:
This is Puerta del Sol, a big tourist depot. It's the first spot Mr. Black and I saw after our endless metro ride in for our hotel out by the aeropuerto.

http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/01.jpg

We wandered around for a while and eventually got hungry. We made a pit stop at El Museo Del Jamon, which sounded like a grand place for some ham. I didn't realize at this point that it's something of a chain but it was still really good. One Spanish ham and cheese sandwich and a cerveza later we snapped this shot:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/02.jpg

Next we walked over to the Plaza Del Mayor, which is pretty nice. Unfortunately, the sky was overcast and many of the pictures came out crappy:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/03.jpg

On a sidenote, during the previous picture two spanish girls saw me photographing the crayon and started laughing. Remember that. It will be important later.

Senor Negro was dissappointed that this store was closed.
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/04.jpg

Admiring some church architecture:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/05.jpg

Another fine building:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/06.jpg

Que?
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/07.jpg

A beautiful government building:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/08.jpg

Del Museo Del Prado, where I originally wanted to check out Picasso's Guernica.
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/09.jpg

However, it has apparently been moved to another museum down the road and, since museums were closing soon, I decided to move on and not go in. Big mistake.

Also, while snapping that shot those same two spanish girls from hours earlier and a totally different part of town were suddenly there, laughing at me again. They asked me what I was doing in Spanish and, while my spanish is good enough for asking directions, I had no way of saying "I'm an idiot and I'm taking pictures of this here crayon for DVD talk," so instead I decided to show them the only way I could:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/10.jpg
Hola Senorita Negro!

Continuing on, I thought you guys would enjoy this:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/12.jpg
Apparently this is a major way to buy DVDs. I assumed they were region 2 so I didn't ask if their version of Panic Room is as shitty as ours.

Finally I made it to the Museo Reina Sofia, location of Guernica, only to discover...
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/13.jpg
AY LOS DIOS MIO! They're closed Tuesdays. So much for that.

Then we spotted this impressive train station:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/14.jpg

I figured the inside would be as impressive as the outside and I wasn't wrong:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/15.jpg
They have a rain forest in the train station where you can chill waiting for your ride.
They even have turtles:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/17.jpg

More walking around:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/18.jpg

Back at Puerta Del Sol at sunset:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/19.jpg

So, after wandering around for 6 horas or so I headed back to the hotel to dump my shit. My plan was to hit a club at night where they supposedly show short films on Tuesday nights. Figuring that these filmmakers would be my scene plus I could maybe do a cool Cinema Gotham Goes to Madird piece on the place, I was psyched. Of course, in typical European style, the club was closed with no sign of ever opening. So I headed back downtown for more wandering around. I hit a couple bars, which when you're by yourself and are not an alcoholic, can be pretty boring. Sometime after midnight I hit San Gines Chocolataria, which was suggested by Grrrah in that other thread, and it kicked butt:
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/22.jpg

Ultimately, we had fun. And Senor Negro made some friends for life...
http://users.erols.com/busker/crayon/madrid/23.jpg
...or until they get smoked!

So, is my crayon the only one to be photographed on three non-contiguous land masses? (We went to Puerto Rico as well. (http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=3985051#post3985051))

Very cool photos buskerdog, and the story was good.

La chica es muy bonita. :D You probably couldn't ask her out because of your limited time in Madrid, but you should've at least asked her to be your tour guide....then you wouldn't have gone to those bars alone. :D

On a bill tracking site (whereswilly.com, most of you will know of wheresgeorge.com) a few members started a little project based on the idea, which I got from this.

A (late) update -

I was one of the first to reply-so I got my pick. Silver. AKA Argent. I've been on a few trips, but things never seemed to work out. Then came my trip to Washington DC. Here's where the story begins...

First off, we have DC's ugliest bathroom, curtosy of a friend of mine. Just plain hideous...

http://members.rogers.com/preacher/stp115-pic1.jpg

Then I came home for a bit, and got to be drunk and geeky, these are the results...

"You shall never obtain the crayola crayon..."

http://members.rogers.com/preacher/stp115-pic2.jpg

and naturally a closeup to show off that fierce crayola action...

http://members.rogers.com/preacher/stp115-pic3.jpg

But eventually I was sent back to DC, where Silver found a kindred spirit...

http://members.rogers.com/preacher/stp115-pic4.jpg

Mind you, this is in an area that explicitly prohibits picture taking (according to the guy driving), but just a double take to make sure, here he is again...

http://members.rogers.com/preacher/stp115-pic5.jpg

Finally, since any trip to DC would be weak without some learning, I showed silver the joys of construction in a classical town. He took to it like a duck in oil and water...

http://members.rogers.com/preacher/stp115-pic6.jpg

Special thanks go to Preacher for hosting these pics after all this time and making me buy a new digital camera after seeing how most of the DC pics came out.

A picture of the guy who was in front of me. I said, "Hey, do me a favor? Hold this." So he did. Then I had to tell him the story behind Tumbleweed.

http://www.fuzzyblanky.com/emilyphotos/PJ/PB180131.sized.jpg

Here's Tumbleweed in line. I got there at 2pm and there was only 20 people in line(signing didnt start until 5pm). The line goes down to the back of the PX; ended up turning on to the road, around to the left and down again in front of us, then around again  Thankfully I got there when I did! When the signing started late, about 60 people ended up in front of me.

http://www.fuzzyblanky.com/emilyphotos/PJ/PB180132.sized.jpg

When he came out, he flipped everyone off. So people kept asking him to do it - again and again.

Here's Tumbleweed waiting for her turn.
