Yes... Ikaruga kicks major ass... been playin' it since the DC days. Just like Maxwell House, it's good to the last drop.

Beautiful words:

I think it's high time they started making more games like Ikaruga. Game companies are turning gamers into p*ssies these days, which is probably why games like this don't flourish.

Never played R-Type eh?

I never did finish R-Type Delta on the PS1.

Ikaruga rocks to though.

R-type Delta on PS1 is regarded as one of the hardest console shooters ever, and with good reason.

I could get to the end boss on stage 5 consistently but could never get past it.

I'd say Einhander was harder though because it didn't respawn you where you died.

Einhander was hard for me but it wasn't as hard as Ikaruga. I finished Einhander too, the last boss was sweet. But I barely made it to the end of Ikaruga, and even then it was pure luck. Still, Einhander has the best soundtrack of just about any game.

Re: "Ikaruga kicks @ss"

Hate to bump an old ass thread, but even though this game has been released on every other platform (Android, Dreamcast, Xbox Live Arcade, Gamecube, etc; ) it's just now finally being considered for a PC Port. Treasure is using Steam Greenlight to gauge interest:

I already own it on Dreamcast (I had an import console) and XBLA but I think I'd take a PC version too
