I saw in the ads that Best Buy has a DVD recorder for $350. Is this a pretty good machine for the price? I have a lot of VHS tapes (recorded TV shows and TV movies, not boots) that I want to get onto DVD before they degrade.

I also wouldn't mind recording TV seasons to DVD.

I think the one you're referring to is a Polaroid model. You can get a Panasonic DVD recorder for the same price online. Personally, I would stick with the Panasonic or one of the other companies like Sony that has a full line of DVD recorders.
