Need help with Iliad?

Can anyone help me with the Iliad? I have to write a paper on 'Achilles or Hector, which one do you consider a hero and why?' any help would be great. I read through it and don't understand it.
Thanks,
Shaggs

Did anyone tend to act in a more honorable manner? Did anyone violate truces? Were the honored dead always returned to the other side for proper burial? Did anyone prefer treachery and guile to honest warfare?

Hector all the way. Achilles is a big pansy cheater.

I guess you don't have time, but if you did, you could read a different translation. The ones that are written more like poems may be more true to the oral tradition, but I find them harder to follow.

Achilles can't be a hero. The "Achilles Heel" is symbolic of weakness. How can anyone worship a man like that.
