Does anyone know what EDTV is?

I have been looking at ads for HDTV's and have seen that there is something called EDTV. Any ideas?

Enhanced Definition TV.
Better than SDTV, not as good as HDTV.
It's 480p, according to that link, vs. SD's 480i, and HD's 720p or 1080i.

You'll find that a lot of these 'budget' plasma's from Gateway and many other companies are EDTV, not HDTV like the higher end ones.
