Ah.. one of the greats.

What's funny, is that after all these years, after the COUNTLESS times I've played and beaten River City Ransom.. I just found out 2 weeks ago that you could rename the 2 main characters.

It has elements of RPG in it like learning new abilities (Dragon feet, Stone hands, Acro Circus...) and you can also buy food to eat so your health increases. Also you can visit spas for some R&R.

Its a brawling rpg .

Not exactly an rpg, more of an a brawling adventure game. There are different areas to go to and each area is connected to another like super metroid kinda, no levels like final fight. You can get money by defeating enemies (basically you are punching their lights out and stealing their money hah!) and buy power ups. There are shops to visit. Its a lot of fun I think you would like it.

Acro circus rules all!

It doesn't look like they changed a thing for RCR.

Double Dragon looks super old school.

I'll stick with the NES carts for now.

Graphics in RCR have been vastly improved. Hopefully they'll be some new stuff, I mean, you can't take your NES with you anywhere you go so being portable is a huge plus. I look very much forward to playing this gmae during slow times at work!

That double dragon looks like the arcade version, not the nes version, which differed greatly. Is this the case, or am I imagining it? Doesn't appear to look like the nes one I got at least..

Both these games might make me finally break down on an gameboy.

RCR on NES can be beaten in less than 3 hours. There has to be something to make that longer.

And yeah, DD is based on the Arcade versions. From what I hear it's a remix of the various titles.

I'm still sticking with the NES ones for now.
