The high-end pioneers not only have equalization, they have auto-calibration. They come with a mic that you set up in your chair and then it automagically figures out the parametric eq curve for each speaker that best gets you a "flat" response at your seat. Some people claim it works miracles, turning crappy sounding speakers into the equivalent of uber-expensive speakers.
