Nascar Thunder 2003 - Sponsor question

Doing pretty well in career mode, don't really understand the sponsor thing though.


Basically, I get certain options.

"Finish in 10th Place"
"Qualify in 10th Place" etc.

I presume they mean for that race - then the pay out is per race?

"Finish in an average of 10th"
"Qualify in an average of 10th"

But if it's per race how can I have an average finish? Surely a 300k payout for 12 races is lame?

"Finish 5th in the Points" - surely 5th in the race will equal pretty much 5th in the points?

Then there are sponsors that COMBINE those!!!!! :confused:

Qualifying, finishing and finish in points are all different and finishing higher in one doesn't mean you are automatically at the same level in the others. Rmemeber, you get bonus points for leading a lap, leading the most laps and starting on the pole, so that can make a huge difference over a span of a few races.

The points is the most tricky thing in Nascar. You can be consistant and finish in the top 10 every race but still, it's possible to be 12th in points depending on how many races you win/how many your opponents win or where they place.

I would guess that these sponsor requirements are over a span of races rather than just one.

Go on over to Nascar.com and look at the stats on the points standing page, Ryan Newman, for example, has won the most races this season, but is 7th in points.

Also unless the game is run differently than a NASCAR event you do not receive points for starting on the pole of a race.

Hmmm well I understand the point system, just can't figure out the sponser requirements, whether the payoff is per race, and how that can be with a sponsor offering money for a first place and an average 5th place. Stuff like that.
