Duplex Trailer - Stiller/Barrymore

http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/duplex.html

I think it looks like it could be fun if not a bit reminiscent of The Money Pit.

IMO that trailer is really lousy. I hope the movie is better than it looks. The cartoon noises at the end made it even worse. "A Danny Devito film" didnt help either.

Yeah I know. The bathtub scene still gets me after all these years.

I think Danny DeVito is a pretty good director with his own style. In the 80's he was directing some good films with that quirky cartoonyness of his. War of the Roses and Throw Momma from the Train were really good. Haven't seen Death to Smoochy yet, but is it really as bad as everyone says it is? I can understand how DeVito's dark sense of humor can be offputting to certain people.

I'll have to agree with most people though. That Duplex trailer looks terrible. But you can never really tell from a trailer.

ok, this looks nothing like the money pit, except that the ceiling caves in at one point. the plot of this movie is the problem with the upstairs neighbor, not the house itself.

Where did I say it is like the money pit?

I said it reminded me of it. Maybe my use of 'reminiscent' was incorrect.

But while watching that trailer I was reminded of the money pit.

The floor collapsing thing.
Getting bankrupted etc.

Sheesh

Yes. Maybe even worse.

I thought "Death To Smoochy" was OK. Not nearly as bad as everybody makes it out to be.

The trailer for "Duplex" makes it look pretty bad. Stiller can be pretty funny, though, so I'll wait until I hear more about it.

Throw Momma From the Train plus Home Alone... with a twist of non-gross out Farrelly brothers.

Wasn't this movie made like 2 or more years ago? I think it's been sitting on the shelf for a bit.

I had a free pass to see this last night.

I liked it for what it was. It was fun.
Obviously not the best movie ever made or anything.

But the "trying to kill the tenant" plot was pretty funny.
And I liked the ending.

Stiller was much better than Drew in this movie.
