Pitch your Cartoon series to Fox (so they can cancel it)

Fox, home of The Simpsons and King of the Hill, is calling for animators, writers, artists, and students to pitch their ideas in the network's first-ever "Pitch-O-Rama."

Creative individuals who have a fresh, innovative idea for an animated comedy show are encouraged to submit their material together with a signed release form. Each individual may submit no more than two projects and each project must be submitted separately and accompanied by a separate release form.

Up to 100 applicants (all of whom must be 18 or older) will be selected to attend an open pitch session to be held at the network's Los Angeles offices in November.

Applications and rules are available here! The deadline for mailing your submissions is September 15. Let us know if you're one of the 100 selected for the pitch session!

Did They have to name it PitchORama? Am i the only one that finds that a little insulting given the past year at FOX?

I can tell you are down on the idea, but I think it's a pretty cool thing Fox is doing. The hardest part of the entertainment business is getting your foot in the door, whether you have good ideas or not.

I'm sure its a huge opportunity, i'm not discounting that. But 90% of the people on this board know exactly where that cartoon is going. 7:00 - 8:00 on a sunday night. To be forever pre-empted by football, moved around, absent for ages, and eventually canceled.

And to name it PitchORama, and know that it will be in Futurama's timeslot... inexcusable.

You know, with the numbers Futurama and Family Guy are pulling on Adult Swim, Fox may have seen the light and turned over a new leaf.

But it would be funny to get thousands of people to submit Futurama and Family Guy.

"See, it's got this talking dog, and this talking baby that sometimes the family understands, but sometimes they don't. And when danger strikes, the baby and the dog become a duo of magical crime fighters"

How come Fox has turned into a Simpson's joke?

Animated Glutton Bowl!

j/k...although it might actually get picked up.

Someone should pitch "Single Female Lawyer" and see if they produce that.

Oh, and they have violent pets, and the people on the show tend to get arrested a lot, which we get to see.

how about a cartoon about a network that makes cartoons that people love only to cancel them. then the viewers on the cartoon can hunt down the network execs and go Itchy and Scratchy on them.

If only they'd make a show about a pizza-delivery guy that got frozen for 1000 years, and wakes up in the future where he works for an intergalactic shipping company with a wise-cracking robot, a squid.....

oh wait

this smacks of the LIMP BIZKIT "help us find a new guitarist" contest

FOX will more than likely sift through these and come up with there own new Ani series based on a combination of everyones ideas.
I am submitting a treatment of a "reality toon" where the voices are all done by 15 min of fame seeking zombies, and then characters are animated to fit their moronic personalities.

How about one where different teams of comics (including some gay ones who don't say they are gay) go on dates, sleep together, and meet each other's parents; they will have singing competitions broken up by really scary or yucky stunts. The final one has to choose to keep the money or their bed partner.

Oh yeah, there needs to be a team with a talking dog and an evil baby; a cute cyclops, and a really stupid super hero, and the whole show will take place on a spaceship.

Good idea, but you know it would get butchered in the translation.
