Gaming while traveling??

I travel via plane a fair amount each year.. probably a trip each month or so.. I want to get some sort of handheld game for this travel.. Years ago, I had a Game Boy with tons of games, but have lost them along the way.. Currently, I have a few lousy games on my Palm... I know everyone will probably recommend a GBA, but I'm not sure I can really justify the cost ($99ish plus 30 a game).. .. At home i have a ps2 so i figure any handheld will be a pretty big step down... any thoughts?

Yeah, if you get the GBA, it will be a huge step down from the PS2 graphically. But the games can still be fun. $99 + $30 per game may seem like a lot, but think about all those hours you will have fun while waiting in the airport, on the plane, etc.

Or you could always play games on your laptop - the graphics will be much better than a GBA and you only have to pay for games. Other than that, there aren't many other options.

i guess my question (and I sort of know the answer).. but after playing ps2 with great graphics.. can an old school game boy still be a good way to kill a couple of hours on a plane?

If you think the PS2 has great graphics I don't think you will have any complaints with the GBA., great little system.
