Man Show 8/24/03
This week's Man Show was better. Drunken Crossfire was good. The Wheel of Destiny was pretty good. Doug's Mom's Porn Review was just downright creepy. The Doctor's Office wasn't very good. I think it would have been funnier if they showed an actual doctor's visit instead.
I think maybe that's part of Doug Stanhope's and Joe Rogan's problem. If you watch Adam and Jimmy, they ad libbed alot of stuff and that was genuinely funny at times. I don't think these guys are comfortable with straying very far from the script, that makes everything feel very stiff.

I just caught the Wheel of Destiny segment, then I watched a DVD. Wheel of Destiny was always my favorite segment from the old incarnation, so I had hopes for this to be good, but I felt it fell flat. Besides the good things they could win were not that good compared to the bad things (I think they should be equally good and bad, but this time out they were not), there was just something off about this segment. When the guy won the anal temperature, there was some bad editing there and it appeared as if it was to cover up the fact that somebody appeared to have stopped the wheel there, and it did not land there by chance. Then next time we see the wheel, it's on something completely different than the anal temperature, yet nobody moved the wheel. I know that's a nit pick, but it is just one more thing that struck me as off. I was more interested in going back to watch the DVD I had just put in so I missed the rest of the episode.

but didn't adam & jimmy always stop the wheel? isn't that the point? (the winking by joe & doug beforehand).. they definitely stopped it, but it did look like they tried to cover that up.. i wonder why..
anyways, i definitely thought this week's was better than last, but it still has a way to go. i miss the toast, and the rushed Q&A with only one question was downright weak. i think that's where these guys need adlibbing skills, and they just don't have them (yet?)...
definitely enjoyed drunken crossfire though.. those guys were a riot, gosh darn it...

That wheel has never been random. Think about it - it never landed on the same thing twice.

This show was better than the 1st, but still not yet up to par w/ Jimmy and Adam's stuff. Doug continues to be funny while Joe continues to be a tool.

This show is going downhill fast - the one segment that showed promise, Drunken Crossfire, started off well when they were introducing the panel but then once the debate started, half the people seemed to have sobered up and the others seemed to be acting drunk.
Looks like its time for me to delete the season pass.
