Final Fantasy Tactics Advance anticipation thread.

I am soooooooo psyched about this game. The Game Informer reviewer estimated 150 hours doing around 300 quests (you can send your people to do them while you go on on your quest, but I want to do them all myself). Is this going to be an awesome title or what?!

Then you are in for a surprise. The addicting thing about the game is you want to level up your characters so much, kind of old school RPGing.

do yourself a favor and play Final Fantasy Tactics, which imo, is the greatest game on the PS. It's my favorite game of all time. And FFT Advance will not be 150 hours long, not even close...probably a standard 40-60 hour timeframe. Reviews and companies always like to inflate the hours.

Yup, awsome story. I have and beat it for the PSX. I hear there was going to be a FFT2 but havent heard anything for a while. You can get Cloud (from FF7) in FFT for the PSX version so hopefully you can get it in the advance version. 150 hours is possible if you do all the side quests and really upgrade your guys to the max but to beat the main part of the game, its probley between 40 to 60 hours.

FFT is the only reason I bought an GBA SP. Tactics on PS rocks as well, one of two games I still have left for the PS.

I loved Tactics on the PSone. I did get Cloud, but you get him so late in the game its tough to get him leveled up. Can't wait for the GBA version and I hope its got some hidden characters from the main series. I bought mine through the Nintendo website bundle so hopefully I won't have to wait too long to get it.

Isn't FFTA going to be different from FFT for PSX? I thought I read somewhere that the storyline is different but the gameplay is similar or something like that. Can someone post some game details or clarify that?

Its a completely new game, but based on the PSX game. At first it was rumored they were simply going to port over the PSX game, but decided to create an entirley new game using the same type of game play as the PSX version.

This is definitely a completely different game from the PSOne version. So even if you played it on the PSOne, buy it for the GBA!

As for going on all the side quests yourself GatorDeb...I'm not sure it really works out so that you can do that. A lot of the time it requires certain abilities or job skills that your main character won't possess. But don't worry, sending your subsidiary guys on the side quests will not detract from your enjoyment of the game!

the problem is, that it is tough to find copies of it. I remember when I was working at a game store even when the PS2 was out, we'd sell copies of it new for $50 and people would buy it.

It's a Greatest Hits title now and I've seen copies at all my local stores. I've still got my original copy

I know now it is. This was back before it was re-released as a GH title.

You should have bought them all up . Before it was a greatest hits title, this game was OOP and would go for $150-$200 on eBay.

I know. Man, those were the days. There were so many games I could've bought to throw on Ebay and I would've made a killing.

We need to keep up with the best deal for this. I will buy it at any price, but still love a bargain.

I'm not into Final Fantasy at all so I'll be passing but not sure if this is a good deal or not, I'll let you guys decide.

I would buy the bundle if I couldn't get yearly subscriptions of NP for $10 each.
