Rolling Stone has sunk to an all-time low

Sure, I quit reading that rag years ago. But I still see the cover when I go to Borders or Tower Records. I thought they reached their all-time low when Britney Spears appeared on the cover of their "Women in Rock" issue. But on the cover of the current issue is, are you ready fo this? The Olsen Twins (!!?) Sure, they're cute. But good Lord. Someone shoot this magazine and put everyone out of their misery.

At least they are hot. Beats some of the skanks that have been on the cover the last couple of years.

Rolling Stone was dead to me the day that Clay "Claude" Akin was featured on the cover.

I decided, at last and definitively, that you could stick a fork in their a** and turn them over when they gave Peter Gabriel's last album two stars. That was last fall.

That rag has nothing to do with rock music anymore and hasn't for quite a while.

Yeah, what the hell is that supposed to mean!? I wasn't aware America was sporting a woody for these kids. That's kind of sick if you think about it. Do they even drive yet??

"American's Favorite Fantasy" is statutory rape then? Feh. Gave up on this rag years ago. Give me BLENDER for a far more entertaining general interest music mag any day.

They are a little shy of 18 I believe. The only thing RS is ever good for anymore is their non music journalism, and that's been pushing it at best (they've done like 4 issues about the marines in iraq; I've had enough.)

I gave up on them when they gave A Perfect Circles debut a lower score than Britney Spears' second album in the same issue.

Q is just too damn expensive. I really dig both it and MOJO but at nearly $10 per pop on the rare occasions I can find them here in rural Oregon, it's hard to justify. I think Blender manages to catch the irreverent and information-packed feel of those two Brit zines and Americanizes it some. At least it's imitating something fresh rather than the tired, played-out RS and SPIN.

I canceled my subscription when they started letting Vedder & the Rage Against The Machine guys spread their political lies without giving any point of view from the other side.

That magazine has devolved into nothing more than a leftist version of "Tiger Beat".

Rolling Stone stopped being a decent "rock mag" back in 1975.

i have to admit, though, that the one thing RS does have going for it is Peter Travers. i quite like his reviews and typically agree with his opinions..

I've always thought RS was pure crap anyhow, and couldn't understand why such trash got any respect to begine with. They were, and still are a mag for sheep.
