Neil Young's Greendale on 8/19?

Would anyone recommend purchasing his latest album? Anyone heard any buzz about it?

haven't heard a lick about Greendale...

BUT some of his older catalog albums are also getting released this Tuesday for their first time on cd. of those albums (On the Beach, Re-ac-tor, Hawks & Doves, and American Stars & Bars), i've heard very good things about On the Beach and even got to listen to some of Hawks & Doves and American Stars recently in England (where they released all of these last month), which were good.

so, you also have those to look forward to!

also, a quick search on google yielded a few links:

This is a review from a British newspaper.

A blog that also contains many links at the bottom of the page (bottom left) that pertain to Greendale.

Rolling Stone's review

A review of a concert based around the Greendale songs.

or you can just click here to go to the google results.

i got the album today. not immediately memorable for me, as his past two albums (silver and gold, are you passionate?) were... haven't watched the dvd yet. don't think i'll get to it before the middle of next week. plus, i don't have a good audio set-up right now anyway, so the point is probably moot anyway.

The DVD included is a solo acoustic show of Neil performing Greendale with story narration between songs. It was available
as streaming audio on his website and I enjoyed it.

The CD is the songs perfromed with Crazy Horse and I'm curious as to how they compare with the acoustic ones.

I have mine ordered online for less than $12.00 including shipping but it hasn't arrived yet.
