does the video game forum load slower?

Maybe it always has, but I've been browsing the forums while on vacation, and video games seems to take 5 or 6 times longer to load each page. Last month video games got hit by a flash ad every other page. Are these things related?

There's an iframe to half.com that I believe only exists on the VG forum -- perhaps that's the cause of the slower speed you're experiencing? I'm not personally noticing any significant sluggishness, though, and if there is a difference, it's barely perceptible on my end.

I disabled the half.com add with my hosts file, and it still runs slow.

It seems to get real slow right after the forum jump bar and the dvdpricesearch bar load up. Then there is a 10-20 second pause, after which the whole page loads. Any ideas?

It could be the loading of the 'Top Price Search Games' which isn't done in the other forums. I'll look in to what might be causing the slow down and see what we can do to address it.
