The Hard Word

This was playing in a local theatre (one that's not known for playing indie or foreign flicks) and I went to see it. Guy Pearce and ugly ugly Rachael Griffiths star in this caper film about 3 buddies who keep getting busted out of jail for "one last job". It had its moments, but for the most part it dragged alot and was predictable and boring.

There were only 6 people in the theater including myself. I was wondering if this was playing anywhere else or if anyone else had seen it.

It played here - I had very little interest because the trailer was really annoying.

I wanted to see the movie b/c Pearce is one of the very few actors I will see anything the guy does. He is just an amazing actor. I still look foward to seeing it though. Looking at your sig, it's pretty cleary you can be WAY off on somethings

I've got the Australian DVD release. It was a pretty entertaining and fun movie, I thought... I really enjoy this style of movie, though, along with most anything Guy Pearce is in, so my judgment is probably skewed a bit.

Saw it a couple of weeks ago, and I think it's still playing here. I mainly went because I enjoy Guy Pearce's work. The film had its moments, but it was a rather odd blend of silly humor and violence. (And I was REALLY distracted by what looked like Guy's fake nose! ) I'm still glad I saw it, though.

This is the first I have heard of this film, and it looks pretty interesting.

I'm always surprised at how many of these lesser known movies slip under my radar. I am a huge Guy Pearce fan, so this is one I would think I'd have heard of before now. Just out of curiousity, where did you guys hear about this?

It played here in L.A. about a month ago. I had no real interest to see it.

Saw a trailer for it a few months ago and forgot about it... then last night we were looking for a second movie to see and it happened to be playing at the theater we were going to... we watched the trailer again and decided it might be okay. quicktime.com has lots of trailers of indie and foreign films.

Yeah - because my belief that Bush is a crappy president says alot about my taste in movies.

I was thinking the same thing , one of these...

I was on the fence about this movie, but since I knew there was no way in hell that it'd be in theaters near me, I'll have to check it out on DVD.
