If this is true this is great news

I believe that that "Coming Soon" notation has been on there since S.1 hit the shelves.

It's been there since at least March.
Check out the 7th post in this thread.
Also this thread from April.

Apparently, season 1 didn't sell as well as they expected (I think the word they used was "disappointing") probably because of the SRP. At $50 SRP, it's obviously not going to sell as well as Columbia Tri-Star's TV releases with an SRP of $30. I hope they release the other seasons though. I'd definitely buy them.

I think I remember reading that S1 did so poorly that they were going to only release 1 more "best of" set instead of each season.

Dumb question--how well did they promote it? Maybe I missed it, but they don't seem to have gone out of their way to alert people that Season 1 was on sale.

Indeed, Fox has had this notiication up since Season 1 was released. All I can suggest is sign up for the email notification. The more the merrier, maybe Fox will get the hint.

I would agree.

The only way to judge whether or not there is enough interest in subsequent seasons would be to have a Mary Tyler Moore marathon with an internet site listed between episodes where fans could vote as to whether or not the series should be continued on DVD.

This situation makes me wonder whether the Dick Van Dyke set will sell at all.

Fox has to know a "Best of" set would not sell as well. Why don't they just put it out priced more like MASH, without bonus features? MASH sells well with only three discs. If we have to shave off the bonus disc on the MTM sets to bring the price down, then so be it. I'd rather have full season sets than a best of set or bonus discs any day. Give me the episodes and nothing more and I would be happy.

Speaking for myself I will DEFINITELY be buying the Dick Van Dyke seasons on DVD. For anyone that might have a little info on this point. The DVD sets were produced by Ed Asner, perhaps if anyone has access to him we could inquire whether he knows the future of the show on DVD.
