just bought a ps2... now i need some cheap games...
I have had xbox/gc for quite some time now and I came upon a good deal on a bare ps2 console so I picked it up. Now I need some games. Any1 have any recommendations? I dont plan on ever playing my ps2 online... or using it for sports games or multiplatform games (generally better on xbox)... and I dont like RPGs, ddr-dance poop, kiddy platformers or GTA. What I am into is 2d/3d shooters (think darius, R-type or radiant silvergun, not fps), 2d fighters, military strategy games, SNK stuff, classic remakes (already plan on getting contra shattered soldier and Twisted Metal Black), light gun games, games where u mindlessly blast waves of enemies (shock troppers, mercs, contra) and stealthy games (like splinter cell or something). Based on all that criteria, can any1 make some recommendations?

MOBILE LIGHT FORCE 2!!!!!! It's a shooter, should be able to get it for $9.99 or $14.99, I got mine from Circuit city for $9.99. It has a corny cover that has nothing to do with the game, it's some japanese shooter but the story cutscenes were cut out. awesome multiplayer and single player game though. I was going to suggest it even before you said shooters

looks cool and the price is right!!!! I absolutely love 2d shooters! I was gonna drop by CC to get some MGM dvds for $5 ea anyway..
any1 else? I know there are "what ps2 games are good?" threads out there but I have specific criteria... so I need more help than some guy who will play any old game so long as its "good".

Slipheed Ultra Collection is $14-19 most stores: Walmart, Circuit City. It is a great shooter with an excellent presentation on part of working designs..
R Type Final is coming out soon..!
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution is $20 and the best 3d fighter ever, considering it is $30 cheaper than SC2, it is SO worth it.
Capcom VS SNK 2 is $14 at Fry's.
But it is a shame you don't like RPG's or music games....FFX, Xenosaga, DDRMAX, Rez, all wonderful games.. [though you might like Rez, it is like a hybrid of shooter and music]

It has MGS2: son of liberty (title?) and extra features (VR missions, snake side story, etc).
It may be cheaper to get this title on XBOX though.

yeah, pretty much anything available on gc or xbox Ill prolly get for them... Im looking for suggestions on p2 exclusives. thanks tho guys!
