American Wedding - reviews

Oh my goodness, this was basically Stifler's movie, but there was plenty of bust-out laughs in this movie, I know the knee-slapping variety laughs in spots. Treat it as a series of gags, and it's a fun movie-going experience. Be warned, there's lots of sophomoric humor on display.

I give it 3 stars, or a grade of B.

I thought it was very good but imo not as good as the first 2.... did anyone else find stiffler to be very annoying at the beginning... like he forgot how to act?

I had fun. Kind of hoping this ends the series. And John Waters is probably pretty upset at the moment...

Yeah, this bothered me a little too, its like Sean William Scott just didn't hit all the notes like Stifler.

But despite that, I laughed my ass off! I loved the first two and this one isn't quite as great as one but I'll put it up against two and it'd be close.

I was worried because the trailers didn't seem terribly good, but after seeing the movie its quite clear that some of the joke can't be condense that far down and retain any sense of why they're funny.

Great time though, perfect summer comedy....if enjoy or can tolerate sophmoric humor.

It was better than I expected. Most of the jokes in the trailer were the worst in the movie imo. It's just a continuation of the 2nd movie with Stifler creating most of the laughs, but thats not a bad thing.
"I'm gonna hang out with my wang out" don't know why, but I laughed a lot at that. Overall it was better than a lot of the movies I've seen this summer.

"Oh yeah, you're a bear"

Funny stuff. I actually thought it was better than the other two. I was really glad they quit 'uglying up' Alyson Hannigan.

Yeah i thought Stifler seemed a little OFF too... Maybe they were just trying to tweak his character a little bit?? I noticed it, but it seemed to go away, either that or once it got funny it stopped being so obvious

Funny movie. B- Not as good as the first, but no one expected it to be.

No Tara Reid

I noticed that too but I think it was done on purpose.. it has been 3 years and I just figure it's just showing that Stifler kept getting worse and worse to the point where everybody did not want him around at any cost, and he does pull that off in the beginning.

I thought it was very funny. I don't think it's as good as the others (I still prefer Pie 2) but I did laugh a lot. I think some of the Stifler moments were the best, but some almost stretched into a stifler parody...a bit too far, or just missing the mark. Overall it was entertaining, but I was hoping for a little more, especially from the bachelor party scene....still, it was entertaining and I laughed and I saw it twice.

Did they ever acknowledge the fact that Chris Klein's character was nowhere to be found?

Nope, They mention Nadia twice. But no mention of Chris Klein or Tara Reid, or the other unnecessary characters.

I did kinda miss the Shermanator though.

Saw it tonight...

1) This was Stifler's movie. It was like 70% him. And there were like no scenes with the Thomas Ian Nicholas character. Like with Oz in Pie 2, they didn't focus on him at all. It was just Jim, Stifler and Finch. I'm not complaining though, these three are the funniest.

2) Stifler did seem off in the beginning...like super-annoying and not badass or funny at all. But he definitely got better...

3) Favorite scenes:
Spoiler:
the dog ****, the bachelor party and the opening scene
Some of the other scenes fell flat, or the payoff just wasn't big at all. But that beginning scene had everyone in the theatre going nuts. It was classic.

I'm glad the series is over...Pie 1 will always be the funniest, but 2 and now 3 are definitiely funny on their own and worthy. For the first time since probably "Old School", a comedy has entertained me in the theaters.

What a good way to close out this series of films. There was some funny crap in this movie.

**** out of *****

It was actually a little better than I thought it would be. And thank you, God, for January Jones.

I would give it four out of five stars, and I thought it was funnier than the second one. The jokes in this one were better overall, IMO.

I loved the little sequence when
Spoiler:
Finch was acting like Stiffler to get Cadence - the "Finch-meister".
That was just one of many pleasant surprises.

from [YAHOO News]

Movie "American Wedding," the third and final chapter -- its backers say -- in the wildly successful series of raunchy, male coming-of-age comedies that started with 1999's "American Pie," debuts in theaters on Friday.

But there will be no "American Baby" after Jim (Jason Biggs (news)) and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan (news)) tie the knot in "Wedding." Nor will there be an "American Divorce," the movie's makers said in recent interviews.

"All the characters have gone from A-to-B. There is no more journey for them to take." said series creator and writer Adam Herz, 30. "We've watched them grow from kids to adults."
