Not sure what to make of this. I called HMV (here in Toronto) and asked if they would be carrying this title (they carry most but to make sure!) and they said the dvd is slated for Aug 5th (as dvdplanet lists) but that it has been discontinued and no more can be ordered.
I thought the region 1 wasn't even released yet until aug 5th so how could it be discontinued?
Was there any rumours of this DVD being canned?

I believe only the Canadian version is delayed. The US disc from Lion's Gate is still on schedule to be released.

it has been discussed already that Alliance messed up the Canadian rights for some of the extras. Therefore their release has been canceled (for now) NOT the US Lion's Gate/Palm Pictures release.
Therefore the title of your thread should point out only to the Canadian release. We are still good to go.!!!
Looking forward to the extras (I already own the Tartan disc)!!!!

Well I just watched the R1 dvd of Irreversible last night - so I can tell you that it does exist. (... though, after watching it, I wish it didn't...)

there has been talk (on another forum) that the commentary is not listed on the features on the packaging
do you know if this disc contains a commentary on it?

This is a powerful film (though rather difficult to watch). I can not recommend it enough for people that like to think about "what if"...such tragedy happens to you!!
