While drinking a lot of whiskey and smoking many cigarettes while watching High Fidelity tonight I realised I go through the same ritual after every break up and I wondered, how many other DVD Talkers have a post break-up ritual involving a certain movie? Mine always seems to come back to High Fidelity, a lot of alcohol and a pack of cigarettes...what's yours?

I have a habit too. After the break up I'll usually sleep with her best friend, sister or mother (sometimes all three) usually while watching Debbie Does Dallas. But thats just me.

I've never been in a break up, but I tend to agree with Goat3001, Debbie Does Dallas does it for me.
Chasing Amy wouldn't be bad either I imagine.

High Fidelity is awesome for breakups.

I think I'd choose the original Terminator.

After breaking up with any of my imaginary girlfriends, I like to drown my sorrows in the comic stylings of Burt Reynolds.

I typically find the best way to forget a girl is to watch a movie where it would be almost impossible to think of her. I always find Star Wars:ANH a good escape.

what DRG said.

Also, watching "high fidelity" after a breakup would be more rough. I mean doesn't he end up with her in the end, again?
Load of typical hollywood horse poo. Plus that blonde in it
was kinda ugly and annoying.

I would watch these:

frankenhooker
(guys girlfriend gets run over by a lawnmower, decides to bring her back to life by using the parts of hookers)

lethal weapon 2
(after trying to get over his dead wife, a cop's new girl is killed. So he really goes over the edge. The F'ng edge)

psycho
(a man has trouble relating with women, so he kills 'em)

Kingpin
('cause it's funny. Plus the landlady is good reason to put you off of women...forever)

One Crazy Summer
High Fidelity
Say Anything
Better Off Dead
and as for one not starring Cusack, Clerks

As weird as it sounds, I usually like to watch Falling Down(but haven't in a long time seeing as I'm married). Something about that movie makes me feel better that I don't have those kinds of problems.

High Fidelity or Better Off Dead.

Dumb and Dumber is always good because I laugh so much that it makes me forget about being dumped or whatever.
