Any firmware updates available for JVC players?

I was wondering, has anyone upgraded a JVC using a CD? I looked around for some firmwares but the only source I found had outdated links. Is this something only the factory can do or can I obtain any of these firmwares online, specifically the XV-S500 or XV-SA600 series? Thanks.

I am a JVC XV-S500 owner. This player tends to lock up on the mulit-angle segment on DVD's, e.g, The Corrs: Live in London or Sarah McLachLan concert DVD. The lock-ups tend to happen when you play any multi-angle segment that is longer than 2 minutes.

Anyone knows the firmware upgrade that will fix this problem?

Interesting... my XV-SA602 freezes in the multi-angle section of Mallrats, so I'd be interested in any upgrades too...

(P.S. Hopefully it will fix the subtitling problems too)
