Specs looking good:

Disc One:
• Widescreen presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs
• Audio commentary by writer/director Wes Craven and producer Peter Locke

Disc Two:
• Looking Back On THE HILLS HAVE EYES: An all-new documentary featuring interviews with Craven, Locke, actors Michael Berryman, Dee Wallace, Janus Blythe, Robert Houston and Susan Lanier and director of photography Eric Saarinen
• The Directors: The Films of Wes Craven: A career retrospective featuring interviews with Craven and actors Courteney Cox Arquette, David Arquette, Adrienne Barbeau, Neve Campbell, Robert Englund, Mitch Pileggi, Bill Pullman, Meryl Streep, Kristy Swanson and Ray Wise
• Alternate ending
• Theatrical trailers
• TV spots
• Behind-the-scenes photos
• Posters & advertising art
• Original storyboard art
• Wes Craven bio
• DVD-ROM: Original screenplay
• DVD-ROM: Screen savers

Hmmm ... can't wait to hear what Meryl Streep thinks of all this...

For all the 'completist' collectors among you...interesting to note that the R2 drops the 'The Directors: The Films Of Wes Craven' feature and instead gains a 71 minute documentary 'The American Nightmare'

Finally - good use of a "big head" on a DVD cover!

Michael Berryman should be the only big head allowed on DVD covers.

Another must-buy to add to the list.

I've never seen it either -- but I remember being a little kid and being totally creeped out by the ads for it. Therefore, it's time I saw it -- a must buy for me too!!

At the risk of beating a dead horse even further -- Is it too late (or totally pointless) to request a remastered widescreen version of The Hills Have Eyes Part 2 from Image?

Yes, I know it's a crappy movie. But...it's one of my favorite crappy movies. And, hey, any movie with Michael Berryman can't be all bad, right? Right?

That's the crappy cover of the video version, couldn't they come up with a better cover. I am very excited about this (this is my favorite Craven film) but still, that's a terrible cover

To be fair, the cover is pretty close to what the original movie poster looked like. A lot darker but overall the thing never was more than a picture of Michael Berryman's Big Head in front of the titular hills. Very ominous. Fits the mood of the film perfectly.

Aaaannnnyway...I like it.

And is it just me or has this year really been the best year ever for horror fans (DVD-wise)? I'm going broke and lovin' every minute of it.

i rented this around ten years ago and in the night and twilight scenes it was dark and grainy you couldn't tell who as who and what was going on. So hopefully with the dvd transfer i will be able to enjoy it a little better.
i still need to pick up Last house on the left.
