Who Wants to Marry My Dad. Oh...my...God

This crap has been out of hand for a long time now, but this has got to take the cake, especially with NBC's super serious ER-voice guy laying down the drama while images of crying children exclaim "It's so hard blah blah blah..."

Can't say I've heard of this show. What is it? A real-life "Sleepless in Seattle" thing?

Watch NBC, and I'm sure you'll see the ad soon enough. It's about what you'd expect. Kids vote from a pool of women and then dad marries the winner.

[ER voice] Thursday, on a very special Who Wants to Marry My Dad, someone cries. It's a Who Wants to Marry My Dad you will NEVER forget. [/ER voice]

Seriously, I am not exaggerating on the ads.

So it's like the "Meet the Folks" episode where the kids decided who the mom would date. Except this time it's marriage.

I heard on the radio today that Trista (of Bacholorette fame) sold the rights to her wedding for one million dollars to the network. Which means they get to pick out everything... the dress, the place, etc.

I agree with the guy on the radio... the right wing will always put down same-sex marriages as abominations, but these shows are making more of a mockery out of marriage and no one is up in arms. And the worst thing is, people watch.

Next up: who wants to marry my dog.

One thing is certain though. The dad got gut for letting his kids pick his wife for him.

Hmmm... so they pick out everything and do all the work and they are paying her one million dollars. Yeah, that must've been a real tough decision for the girl.

Having been through the whole wedding process... my wife was very involved in planning out our wedding (obviously). It would've killed her to not be in control of every little detail (limited by my funds, of course). I'm sure they'll spend a lot of money, and I hope they still get to pick their bridesmaids and groomsmen, but this is their wedding... kinda loses it's specialness when planned by a network. Of course, this is a couple that met on a reality show in front of millions of viewers...

Honestly, with all of these reality show contestants having some kind of dark past, I'm not sure I'd want my mom with any of them.

I would hope you don't think the deceased mom IS hot! Now if you meant she WAS hot when she was alive, that is a different story...

as bad as this is....and it is BAD.....I can't help but feel that the horrific promos for the show with 5 gay guys giving makeovers to stragiht guys is about the most abhorrent thing yet in the world of reality tv. I think it's supposed to air on Bravo, but is being advertised on NBC, often right along with the who wants to marry dad ads.....

Here's my pitch to NBC:

"Who Wants to Circumcize My Baby?"

Or:

"Who Wants to Embalm My Dead Grandmother?"

Or:

"Who Wants to Mow My Lawn?"
