wow. I've been trying to make a good hip hop one too(sorta an "angry one though").

Here are some of mine, in no particular order:

Wu Tang - CREAM
Wu Tang - Triumph
Biggie - Big Poppa
Eminem - Lose Yourself + Til I Collapse
50 Cent - Places to Go or Paitiently Waiting
Beatnuts - No Escapin This
Puffy, Biggie, Busta - Victory
Cypress Hill - Rock Superstar
DMX - X gonna give it ya

Mainly "new" rap, but it's some of my favs...

When listening to rap, I have one simple rule - if it comes from Cash Money or No Limit, I ignore its existence. If it plays on TRL, I probably hate it too. (I had big hopes for Ja Rule, but he is now just wasted talent). I'm also one of those people who think after the death of Biggie and Tupac, mainstream rap took a nosedive that it never recovered from.

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five - "The Message"
Sugar Hill Gang - "Rapper's Delight"
Run DMC - "King of Rock"
Beastie Boys - "Sabotage"
Dr. Dre f/ Snoop Doggy Dogg - "Nuthin' but a G Thang"
Tupac Shakur - "Hail Mary"
Tupac Shakur - "California Love"
DMX - "The Convo"
Jurassic 5 - "Quality Control"
Deltron 3030 - "3030"

Thanks for the input

I can't list 10 best of all time but I can't see how you can make a compilation of the best hip hop of all time without having:

Dr. Dre- Ain't Nothing But A G Thang
Snoop Dog- Gin And Juice
Tupac- California Dreamin
Notrious BIG- Hypnotize

I know what my top hip-hop song was, is, and probably will always be:

Paid In Full (Coldcut Remix) by Eric B. and Rakim

Wu-Tang definitely has supplied a few, also De La Soul, Dr. Octagon AKA Kool Keith, Cypress Hill, Dr. Dre...there was really a golden time from the late 80s/early 90s where there were more great songs and albums than you could handle.

The Spooks - "Things I've Seen"

Zig & Zag - "The Christmas No. 1" (A song released by two puppets from a popular kids' show in Ireland. Sure enough, it WAS the number one song that Christmas. If you have this song, I WILL pay a lot to get it.)
