I'm looking to build a very nice stereo (2-channel) setup just for high-end music (SACD, DVD-A). Can anyone suggest a good forum where I can start looking for information about components? I'll be looking for a couple of $1000-range tower speakers, a $2000-range 2-channel amp-preamp package, and a player.

You might also check out some of the reviews and articles at www.stereophile.com or www.theabsolutesound.com. Unfortunately, TAS has started charging for many of their reviews.

dont discount the 5.1 aspect of the formats you mentioned. The new Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd) is a great example of multi channel SACD.
In the highend forums may not be the best place. Everyone tends to like what they have bought. I also recommend Stereophile and also HomeTheater mag.
Still the price you are talking about is more in the middle then the top HomeTheater mag covers a wider range of prices.

Oh, believe me, I don't. I have a great surround setup downstairs, but for the living area, I want just a top-notch stereo presentation...or at least as top-notch as I can get in that price range...
