Storm Destroyed My XBox

Last night I moved my XBox to another room, one without a surge protector, and sure enough it got runied. I think lightning either hit the house, or somewhere near it. All the power went off for a few seconds, but when it came back on the XBox was dead. I tried plugging it into several outlets, which were all working, but none worked.

I really don't want to buy a new XBox and a new copy of T2, which is stuck inside, unless I have to. I've had it for over a year, so I know I will probably have to pay to get it repaired or replaced. Is there any way to fix this before I go out and buy a new one?

If you're feeling adventurous, try this. Not responsible for damage to you or your xbox ..

If it's not the fuse, it's probably a blown power supply, and you can get a replacement here ..

Call your Renters/Home Issurance. Most of the time they cover these sort of things. I got a new Tivo a couple of years ago when mine was blown during a storm (through the cable line).

There should be a little hole to stick a needle or such into that will manually eject the CD tray to retrieve T2. And like someone else said, it should be fairly easy to try and replace the PS if you know your way around electronics.

Or, if it is the power supply and not the fuse, you can buy an original microsoft replacement from me, heck, if you pay for both way shipping, I can install for you for free.

I used to repair broken ps2, psx, and xbox systems but for a lack of time, I stopped doing that. Now I am stuck with tons of extra parts I need to get rid of but dont want to throw away.

If it is just the power supply, it's extremely easy to replace. There are 6 star-screws on the bottom holding the case together, only one screw holding the hard drive in, and 2 screws holding the DVD drive in. After that the PS should come out with a couple more screws.
