Would you ever throw away all DVD packaging in favor of those CD binders?

I was just wondering if anybody would or knows somebody who did throw away all of their DVD packaging/ inserts and stored their DVD's in those CD binders?

Personally I never would, but I am sure that somebody has or would do it, for their own reasons.

Nope. I left them all in my binder like that for a few months and they got totally messed up. Some kind of crap grew on the bottom of all of them so I have to usemy disc doctor to repair them as I watch them all again.

Plus, I had about 400 CDs stolen about 3 years ago when I stored them in a binder.

Dude, you are in a forum where people enjoy designing cases and artwork. I don' t think you are going to find anyone here that has done that. This forum is all about the dvd design.

Yes.

I collect movies, not packaging.

No, that's like throwing away the VHS sleeves and having loose tapes.
Part of the Collection is the packaging IMO. If it wasn't then they would all come in small cardboard sleeves.

Never, that's crazy talk.
I also hope that the thin DVD cases won't ever become a standard...

My whole collection are in case organizers. But my dvd boxes and inserts are boxed up and stored away in the pantry.

I just had a problem with some DVDs in organizers (case is stored) because the plastic left some material on the DVD. I am going to try cleaning it.

I don't do it personally (I have three DVD shelfs lined up against a wall), but a friend of mine puts all in his in a binder and stores the box and covers in his closet.

Couldn't do it with DVD's. They belong in their cases. I mean c'mon, half the fun of collecting DVD's is to see them in all their glory, stacked one after the other, showing the sheer size and power of the collection. A binder just wouldn't do that.

I do store my CD's in that manner, however. I don't throw out the Jewel Cases, I just keep them in a box. Of course, I rarely use my CD's anymore, since I've ripped most of them onto my computer and listen to them that way.

But I could NEVER store my DVD's in that manner.

If they would make a case that you could slide custom cover art in like a dvd case, then I would consider it, at least for TV shoes that take up alot of space, like X-Files, the Twilight Zone, Farscape, etc. Right now, all I have seen are those vinyl type zipper cases with no way to tell what it is when looking at the binder.

I'd like the thing to be as tall as a DVD, and open up like a notebook with pages. the spine can be as thick as one on those 7 disc cases at InetDVD, and shouyld be able to hold at least 25-30 dvds! You should be able to remove and insert pages. And have custom cover art slip cover all the way around it.

I keep lookin' but I don't see them!
