I personally think it did,mix the strong brutal fights between the terminator and the T-X, the at least 4 f bombs, the possilbe imitatabitly of the car chase, (the terminator hanging on to a crane and getting smashed into a bunch of buildings, and the nudity (yes I know it was low, but Solaris had a big problem getting away with the pg13, and the violence and language was nothing compared to that one.

Also I did this thread because in the uk this movie got a 12a uncut which is equivilent to a pg13 and most of you know, the bbfc is very strict with movie ratings.

I think the main thing was when the TX went around town murdering teenagers.

I was surprised to find out that T3 was rated R as well. I guess over-the-top violence doesn't bother me all that much anymore.

I definitely agree with the R rating.
While not an extreme R, it did have plenty of violence (while most was not extremely graphic, it was pretty much non-stop) , some gore, potentially imitable behavior, brief nudity, and a handful of F-bombs.

Were there any kicks to the head, though. 'Cause we can't have that.
If anything, it should be rated NC-17 to stop defenceless children from imitating "Talk To The Hand".

Yes, it's more violent than Matrix Reloaded.

IIRC...
1 F-bomb = PG-13
2+ = R
Regardless of violence or nudity, it was pretty cut & dried just from a language POV. I could be wrong, but I was always under the impression that was a standard criteria the ratings board went by.

Realistic Violence I'm sure has a lot to do with it.

Seems like parents don't care. I can't believe how many parents brought their 4-8 year olds with them at the showing I went to yesterday. Very disturbing. -ohbfrank-

Yeah, if anything that is what made me uncomfortable. Watching this kid look at the screen while the Terminator punches her arm through that police officers chest and proceeds to drive.

Yeah, and who will the parent blame when their 4 year old punches his or her arm through a policeman's chest while driving? The movie.

I was thinking the same thing. I went to an evening show and the amount of kids I saw was staggering. I wasn't expecting that. What I found most shocking was the people in the theater that brought their babies into the show. These babies were not even 1 year old. With how loud the movie was I hope it didn't do any damage to the babies. I have an 11 month old and wouldn't even think about taking her to a movie at that age.
When I was watching the movie I couldn't believe that it received an "R" but after reading these posts I can see why now.

Also violence against authority figures almost garuntees an R rating (not always)
yeah if you cut or cropped the film in a few places it could've been pg-13 but since the first two were R the third had to be
