Well, I guess T3 is a box-office dud!(only $12 million Wednesday)

Time for Arnold to start polishing off his handshake and hit the gubernatorial campaign trail, cause his movie career might as well be over. Nothing's going to make up for this financial travesty!!!

I'm being sarcastic, seems like any major movie that opens with less than $70 million in its first two days is considered a travesty. But I guarantee you, somebody in Hollywood is ready to say that T3 is down for the count. A shame that summer movies no longer get a whole summer from that point where they're released to make their money. Seems like your average time span on being determined a hit or flop is the first three days.

We'll see after this weekend. I imagine it will get a boost Thursday night (not many people work 4th July) and this weekend should be rather good. I see it doing around 70 million, to be honest. This summer's box-office has been low so far.

It's 70%+ at RT ... I'm hoping to catch it sometime this weekend (like tomorrow night while everyone else is at the fireworks)

The supposed record-setting travel this weekend may hurt it, though.

I do think this will hold up a bit better than Hulk, etc. just because expectations were generally down (many thought it would suck), which prevented the opening from being huge. But word of mouth has been pretty strong, so people may decide to give it a chance.

Phew, I'm glad you revealed the title was sarcastic, because I was going to bust a gut over the ridiculous expectations some people seem to have for opening weekends lately. Anyway, I wasn't interested in T3 at first, but positve reviews have led me to think I'll check it out sometime this weekend.

I for one always look at BO intake, why? I don't know. Some of my favorite movies made diddly squat. But wait till Mon, before you throw T3 in a grave; I also think it will do pretty good, too.

I saw it this afternoon at a 1400+ seat theater - only about 300 people in the audience, but a very appreciative audience that applauded at the end of the movie. I think word of mouth will help this one overcome any advance resistence.
(Is it as good as the first two? Of course not, but it is still better than 99% of the crap that shows up on your local screens, and it does not insult the spirit of the first two.)

Remember, this movie is rated R. Just because Matrix 2 did well with an R doesn't mean T3 can. It's a shame if it doesn't do well because it's a much better movie than the newest Matrix.

Yeah I think word of mouth is gonna carry this one despite opening weekend. It may have some competition though with Pirates. We shall see.

It's been pirated and on the net right now by two different groups.. lets see if the rumors that Pirates effect box office intake is true by T3's numbers..

It was released on a Wensday, I think we need to wait until this weekend is over before we judge it a failure or not.

It is the 9th best Wednesday opening ever and it is ahead of T2 as far as total $$$ amount.

I am not sure it will make back it's production $$$ amount, but it will worldwide and make a total killing on DVD.

Saw they movie and will see it again in the theater befor I buy it on DVD.

Well, considering the fact that it cost $170 million, that would be bad.

Thursday's Numbers:

1 Terminator 3 11.884 -4% 3355 3542 28.36
2 Legally Blonde 2 6.697 -27% 3350 1999 15.84
3 Charlie's Angels 2 3.589 19% 3485 1030 53.17
4 Finding Nemo 2.602 18% 2902 897 263.70
5 The Hulk 1.928 17% 3295 585 108.76
6 Sinbad 1.631 7% 3086 528 3.15
7 28 Days Later 1.176 34% 1319 892 14.64
8 Bruce Almighty 0.873 27% 1925 454 224.68
9 The Italian Job 0.806 35% 1584 509 79.69
10 2 Fast 2 Furious 0.591 - 1775 333 116.79

Excellent hold for T3 as it matches T2's percentages with some good WOM kicking in. Looks as if Legally Blonde 2 is getting the opposite effect with it's near 30% drop.

It's a little different when it's on the web weeks in advance
compared to the same time it's in Theaters. Any fan of the
series would pay to see it on the big screen with the sound and
all. At least you'd like to think anyway...

Sinbad and Johnny Depp might just do that.

Terminator's keeping pace with itself......but Legally Blonde keeps dropping, but then yesterday was a holiday.

Should be interesting to see Saturday and Sunday finals.
