Legally Blonde 2 - short review
This film stumbles out of the gate in the first 15 minutes, but once the venue changes, it gets a little better as "outsider" Elle shakes up Washington D.C. in her legislative debut on Captiol Hill.
If you liked the first one, this installment may prove acceptable (thankfully Reese doesn't have to mug for the camera the entire movie, like she had to in the first film).
There are bits which provide some good laughs, but overall it's pretty even, and somewhat flat in energy. I got the sense that this film was totally a "money grab" project, and not something that really moved on-screen in any deep, serious manner.
I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.

Even from the trailer Jennifer Coolidge looked like the best part of the movie, and for that reason I will not watch the movie. I can't stand Reese Witherspoon as it is--she just annoys the hell out of me. I hated the first film, so I see no reason why this should be any different.

No second time for me either. I hope other people realize this and knock ol' "greasy Reese" off her high horse.

I'm as big a Kevin Smith fan as anybody, but he really does come across as a little 8 year old school boy with a grudge when he tells the "greasy Reese" story.

While I enjoy his movies for the most part, Kevin Smith
is nothing but a big dork who's bitter because his films
don't make any money.
Reese Witherspoon is a talented and funny actress.
Why knock her down when her qualities are rare in
Hollywood.
The movie does look pretty lame though.

I'll wait for DVD....plus I still have residual dislike for Reece after Sweet Home Alabama.

I'm no fan of the Legally Blonde series, but it's opening day (Wednesday) vs. T3 was actually pretty good:
1. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines - $12.4m
2. Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde - $9.1
I'm hoping the gap will widen on the Fourth of July weekend. Still, not bad for a movie which almost everyone is trashing.

Gee, judging from internet forums one would think there was almost zero interest in seeing LB2. Then again, since when are net forums an accurate representation of how a film will do with the rest of society.
Me thinks that most guys who would go see LB2 are going because they don't spend much spare time of the net.

I really like Reese Witherspoon and I enjoyed the first film,
but this sequel was truly awful.
It's one redeeming quality was the dog getting dressed up
in the same outfit that Reese wore in every scene it
was in.
That's it. Legally Blonde 2 just plain sucked.

I don't often walk out of a film... I have a high tolerance for bad cinema. I walked out of this one though - piece of garbage. Unfunny, uninspired, and a bunch of other 'un's that I can't think of right now because after watching 2/3 of this filth, I am now retarded.
I thought the first one was 'cute', but if I had my arm caught in a bear trap chained to a theater seat and this movie started showing on the screen - I'd chew my arm off to escape.

Okay, I saw this w/ my wife last night. Wow - I would rather have diarrhea for an entire week than watch that again. Aside from a couple funny lines from Jennifer Coolidge at the very beginning, this was just flat-out terrible. For a little while, it was laughably terrible, then I couldn't even laugh in pain, I was cringing so hard. My wife loves the first one (Like Trigger, I thought it was 'cute', too), but she thought it was horrible as well.
Sorry for threadcrapping, but this was the worst experience we have had in a theater since the Blair Witch Project. I have seen some mediocre/bad movies, but this takes the cake.

And the characters! Elle Woods, cutely clueless in #1, is now pompously out-of-touch. Luke Wilson transforms from a smart and promising person to a neutered nothing who exists to affirm Elle and not much else. Elle's friends are dragged back in, as shrill caricatures of their former selves.
BTW, I didn't like this movie.

Regarding the movie, bah...doesn't look good. I like the first one too, but this...I'll pass.
